Simple One E-Scooter To Offer Significant 300Km Range!

With the burgeoning electric vehicle segment in the country, EV maker companies are also making extra efforts to give each other neck-to-neck competition. In the same way, Bengaluru-based e-scooter maker, Simple Energy, has announced the introduction of a new larger battery pack for its scooter, Simple One. With the addition of a double battery pack, the Simple One will be able to deliver a great range of 300+ km on a single charge.

Hence, the new addition will raise the price of the Simple One scooter to Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). However, without an extra battery, the scooter will be available at the older Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom) price. The 1.6 kWh battery pack will enable the scooter to traverse the 300+ km mark, which will be a great step up from the standard 235+ km configuration. It’s worth mentioning here that both the batteries are removable and can be carried in the boot space.

Speaking of the new battery pack addition, Simple Energy’s founder and CEO, Suhas Rajkumar, stated, “When we conceived the Simple One, we had the aim of offering an electric scooter that could offer enough range for users to not have to worry about range or charging. Offering an extra battery will allow power users to reach destinations that no other electric two-wheeler in India can. This additional battery can easily fit in the boot of the scooter, offering a range of over 300 km. This is a big milestone—not just for Simple Energy, but for the EV industry as a whole. This move will also go a long way towards bolstering the perception of electric scooters.”

With the futuristic and sharp design elements, the Simple One seems to have been developed while taking into consideration the young audience of the country. And with the new option, the e-scooter will become the king of the range offered on a single charge. Also, the brand has claimed that the acceleration from 0–100 km/h will be accomplished within 2.85 seconds instead of the former 2.95 seconds, which the company-claimed top speed stands at 105 kmph.
