Yamaha recently expanded its Taiwanese portfolio by introducing the Augur 155 performance scooter. While it shares some hardware with the Aerox 155, the Augur has many features that are unique to it.
The Augur’s most notable feature is its radical styling. It appears to be inspired by a spaceship from a sci-fi film. The pointed front end features a split-type apron. This apron houses a round projector headlamp flanked on both sides by DRL stripes.
Sharp side panels complement the upswept tail section on the robotic-looking fascia. The Augur features a flat single-piece seat and a spacious footboard. The 15cc scooter’s feature set is as opulent as its design. It has traction control, a cornering assist, and an adaptive colour headlight.
Yamaha offers the Augur with a 4.3-inch digital console with Bluetooth connectivity. It comes with all-LED lighting, a keyless control system, and an ABS safety net. It propels on 13-inch alloy wheels, telescopic forks, and dual springs.
New Yamaha Augur comes with the same 155cc liquid-cooled unit along with VVA that powers the Aerox 155. This engine is good for 14.7 HP of maximum power along with 13.8 Nm of peak torque. There are currently no reports of the Yamaha Augur arriving in India. Those looking for a premium sport scooter in India can opt for the Aerox 155.
