Skoda has been updating its products from time to time, keeping them with the current age design language. The 2017 Skoda Octavia, which is basically a facelift to the car bring sold in India currently, has been unveiled online by the Czech carmaker. It is expected to go on sale in Europe this year only while India may get the same anytime next year.
The car witness a facial transplant with split LED headlights, a pair on both sides. The grill gets a bit of revision while the bumper is now different with new bigger air intakes and new fog light design. The overall design flow and rear end design stays mostly the same, receiving changes to the taillights only.
The interior now gets new instrument console with better MID in between the two pods. 2017 Octavia uses a 9.2 inch capacitive touchscreen Columbus Navigation system. It covers a large portion of center dashboard but looks amazing in terms of practicality. Other new features include heated steering wheel, customizable key settings and folding tables at the back.
The car internationally carries five TSI (petrol) and four TDI (diesel) engines ranging from 1.0 L to 2.0 L. While the lower variants get a 6-speed manual gearbox, upper are mostly available with 6 or 7 speed DSG. Skoda India will bring 4 new products in 2017, this being one of them, along with Kodiaq, Monte Carlo Rapid and Octavia RS.
