The Yamaha R15 V2 you see here has been heavily-modified by Kunal Custom Design and the sportbike is now loaded with a long list of features, leaving even concept cars behind with advanced sensors and first-in-class equipment. The modifier has equipped the 2nd-generation Yamaha R15 with high-tech features like keyless ignition and fingerprint security system.

Apart from the button, the electric starter can now also be operated through a connected smartphone and even the infotainment display on the motorcycle. The instrument console has been mounted on the handlebar while empty space under the visor has been filled with a 6.9-inch display with an independent fingerprint sensor and battery health display. The infotainment display also supports touch inputs.

Once the owner places his finger on the scanner, the mirrors automatically retract from the closed position. This modified Yamaha R15 V2 even features a rearview camera while the front comes with an Autologue-inspired fairing that covers the headlight portion in such a way that the motorcycle gets an edgy and aggressive look.

Kunal Custom Design has installed projector headlights and LED indicators that also act as emergency lights when a button is pressed. The motorcycle also features an anti-theft alarm, navigation system, notification for the calls, voice control and instructions. Not just that, the rider has fitted a sensor to help the headlights achieve automatic high/low beam function. Another great feature of this modified Yamaha R15 V2 is a cruise control system.

The complete wiring has been modified to achieve mobile control and complicated systems like fingerprint start and cruise control. The cost of modification is not exactly known as the modifier roughly calculated the raw material cost (not including the cost of the wires) to be over INR 20,000. The motorcycle has a unique wrap on the body, flaunting faux carbon fibre finish on most parts to add visual enhancement to this typical Yamaha R15 V2.

BS6 Yamaha R15 V3 vs Honda CBR150R (Quick Comparison): Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 3.0 and the new Honda CBR150R are the closest possible rivals for 150cc premium performance segment. The R15 V3 made its official debut in India at the Auto Expo 2018 while the new CBR150R is still under the expected list of products for the Indian market. Honda has a great chance here as they could revive the CBR150R in India and bring some real competition to the similarly-priced bikes.

As the Yamaha R15 V3 is now available with a BS6-compliant engine and priced at INR 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom), one can expect Honda to place the new model of the CBR150R ABS slightly lower for better competition. Honda will most probably discontinue the quarter-litre CBR250R in India due to negligible demand and thus, the chances of CBR150R’s revival are now higher than ever.

We are not sure whether Honda CBR150R will launch in India or not. If it comes at the right time, buyers are suggested to choose one of them according to their needs. Strict speed lovers who ride once a month on track should blindly go for the Yamaha R15 V3 while those who ride for the leisurely purpose should consider the Honda CBR150R as it offers the best power-to-weight ratio in the everyday rpm range. Here is a quick comparison of the BS6 Yamaha R15 V3 and the new model of Honda CBR150R.

The modification experts at K-Speed, Thailand has once again mesmerised the audience with their yet again superb customization to the Yamaha XSR155. The retro-inspired motorcycle has been offered an off-road beast look which is bound to grab attention on the road. Known as the Yamaha XSR155 Trail Breaker, the modifiers have further accentuated the rugged appeal of the motorcycle by replacing major stock panels on the motorcycle with the aftermarket units.

The crash guard at the front features the twin-pod headlight unit mounted on it while the illumination has been further enhanced by auxiliary lights on either end of the crash guard. The modifiers have retained the same instrument cluster as well as the flat handlebar unit as seen on the stock model though the switchgear has been replaced with an aftermarket unit.

The subframe of the motorcycle has been tweaked a bit while the rider-only saddle sits on top. The fuel tank of the Yamaha XSR155 Trail Breaker has been kept in stock condition though the modifiers have opted for a unique garnish on top. The ground clearance and the rear suspension travel of the motorcycle have been further increased via the repositioned twin-pod exhaust outlets in addition to redesigned tail light under the single-piece saddle.

Coming to the mechanical changes, the suspension duties are handled by same USD forks at the front while the rear shock absorber has been replaced with an aftermarket one. In addition to this, the brakes setup now features callipers sourced from Brembo. The rugged look of the motorcycle has been enhanced by the use of spoke wheels in place of the standard alloy units seen on the Yamaha XSR155.

Apart from this, the other mechanical bits of the motorcycle remains the same. Powering the modified motorcycle is the same 155cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-valve engine that is good for 19.3HP of maximum power @ 10,000 rpm and 14.7Nm of peak torque @ 8,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The stock model of the Yamaha XSR155 is expected to launch in India later this year with an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 1.50 lakh.

The perfectly customized Yamaha R15 V2 Raptor is definitely one of the smartest 150cc motorcycles right now. A YouTube channel “One Of Its Kind” (O.F.I.K) has shown us how technology can make a stock model of a motorcycle feel like an eye candy to the masses.

The 2013 Yamaha R15 V2 used here comes with more electronic options than a commuter car, making it the most impressively loaded R15 model of all time. The motorcycle features a flip key, supporting remote unlock and LED daytime running light controls from one button and path-finding light through the other one.

The first button can also be used to electrically unfold the rearview mirrors that fold on their own when the ignition is turned off. Apart from the regular display on the left side of the tachometer, the Yamaha R15 V2 Raptor comes with a tank mounted touchscreen display with options like welcome screen, digital clock, weather information, music, phone, and other connectivity options.

The customizer has mounted a Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo smartphone for this purpose with custom-designed booting screen and layout. Also, the special helmet with the Yamaha R15 V2 Raptor enables the rider to make phone calls through a single button press after connecting with the system. The move allows the rider to stay always connected.

The R15 V2 Raptor features side stand warning beep, rear tire pressure monitoring unit, custom headlight, handmade body kit, and electronic pillion seat ejector. The motorcycle also features gear shift-assist light, high rpm warning, and remote function activation switch.

The features listed here are not even available in most litre-class sportbikes around the globe, making the Yamaha R15 V2 Raptor a really special model among the biking community. The 2013 variant of R15 is powered by a 149cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, producing 17HP of peak power and 15Nm of maximum torque. The engine is mated a 6-speed gearbox.

Yamaha FZ is one of the favourites when flaunting motorcycle muscle in the entry-level segment becomes an urgent need. The reputation built by the same was recently challenged by the new Suzuki Gixxer and the Honda CB Hornet 160R in the Indian market. The first-gen Yamaha FZ you see here has been modified by ‘Gear Gear Motorcycles’ and the modifier has turned the FZ into a slimmer machine that looks pretty similar to the legendary Yamaha RX 100.

Yamaha FZ Modified

The Yamaha FZ was completely stripped down to get the idea of placing custom components, starting with an RX 100 fuel tank and a custom-built flat seat. Removing all the panels left the side panels exposed while the modifier has finished the same in the black shade to help the yellow fuel tank express its scrambler feel. The stock exhaust has also been replaced with a custom exhaust system while the rear LED strip has been placed right where the seat ends.

The front disc brake and the rear drum brake combination has been kept the same as the stock model of the old Yamaha FZ. The ribbed seat pattern has been replicated on the fuel tank with black graphics. The modifier has equipped the custom-made motorcycle with a round halogen headlight.

The stock handlebar has been replaced with a scrambler racer unit while the bar-end mirrors further improve the overall look of this typical FZ. The use of thick dual-purpose tyres with spoke rims at both ends make it exclusive and also helps in increasing the ride height of the motorcycle. For further inquiries and pricing details you can contact:

The Yamaha R15 V3 you see here has taken the extreme route of modification and got itself an R1M-inspired look. However, the changes are totally visual and more importantly, based on a kit that can be mounted or removed. The kit comes with a custom headlight setup with huge bubble visor, redesigned side fairing and a completely new tail section with an in-built backrest.

The rear section of the sportbike also flaunts effective winglets while the front can be seen with a custom fender. The taillight and turn indicators are neatly studded into the new panels. The R15 V3 seen here is an Indonesia-spec model as one can spot the USD front forks and rear aluminium footpeg holders.

Yamaha R15 has served as a base for hundreds of modifications in the past decade and some of the owners have gone to the next level by adding technology to their examples. Here, the primary focus was to achieve R1M styling and that too by not altering any performance-related components of the R15 V3.

The impressive shade looks even better in the low light conditions. The modifier has used precisely-placed stickers to highlight the overall design upgrade. The centre section of the fuel tank is wrapped in black shade for the perfect contrast.

At present, the Yamaha R15 V3 can be had in three different shades in India, that too with 2-channel ABS as a stock feature. The base model of the sportbike is available for INR 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom) while the top-end Darknight Edition is priced at INR 1.47 lakh.

The most powerful motorcycle of its kind, the stock version of R15 V3 can produce 18.6 HP of maximum power and claims 0-100 kph in around 12 seconds. The modified model seen here comes with premium tires while the use of huge panels at both the front and rear end makes the wheelbase feel puny in comparison to the stock model.

Yamaha R15 V2 owners know the feeling of riding a young supersport motorcycle and each one of them must have imagined how a similar genre flagship would look under their possession. Taking the front seat here, a Vietnam-based modifier has converted the second generation Yamaha R15 into a BMW HP4 Race.

The motorcycle featured here feels slightly different as the front and rear wheels have been kept stock to avoid engine overkill. The front fascia is derived from the INR 86.70 lakh BMW HP4 Race, leaving the headlights behind for this aerodynamically efficient fairing and golden USD front forks.

Unlike the BMW HP4 Race, this modified R15 features the much-celebrated pillion seat. However, the high tail design of the R15 V2 has helped the motorcycle look like a proper race bike. The modifier has used decorative faux carbon fibre parts to add more sporty feel into the product.

In fact, the addition of frame sliders on both sides will protect the fragile side panels during a sudden fall. The side fairing of the motorcycle features HP4 and BMW monikers while the seat used here comes with better padding than the stock model of the BMW HP4 Race for more comfort-filled hours on the track.

The exhaust used here is different from the original one on the BMW HP4 Race but this one is also equally impressive in terms of exhaust sound and design improvement. The effect of this Akrapovic unit is unknown as performance values for the motorcycle are not yet available.

Even though the 149cc engine on the R15 V2 is good for 17HP, the level of attention paid while making this motorcycle confirms that eyeballs will roll with its tyres on every road for sure.

The braking also stays stock, leaving this Yamaha-based HP4 Race with a single front and rear disc, that too without any other addition except for the Brembo master cylinder. Here is the complete photo gallery of the Yamaha R15 V2, which has been modified to look like a BMW HP4 Race.

According to the recent reports, Honda is planning to introduce a new 150cc adventure touring motorcycle that will be christened as Honda CB150M. The motorcycle will be initially launched in Thailand. The brand is also said to be working on the production versions of the CB125M and CB125X concept models, which were unveiled at EICMA in November 2018. Europe will be the first market to receive the production version of the Honda CB125M.

Taking the design inspiration from the Honda CB150R Streetster and the CB125M, the upcoming CB150M will get a commanding riding position with a wide handlebar placed higher in comparison to the brand’s regular street bikes. The production version of the motorcycle will be equipped with more road-centric tyres that will be replacing the slick tyres as shown in the concept version.

Honda’s Italian R&D team will be responsible for the development of the upcoming motorcycle. Powering the CB150M will be the same engine that does duty on the CBR150R. The 149cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 17.1HP and a peak torque of 14.4 Nm. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The suspension duties on the motorcycle will be handled by 41mm upside-down telescopic forks at the front while the rear will feature a monoshock suspension. The Honda CB150M will get petal disc brakes at either end.

The brand will be replacing the SC-Project exhaust unit as shown in the concept version with a more affordable exhaust canister in order to keep the cost under check. When launched in India, the upcoming Honda CB150M will compete in the market with the likes of Yamaha MT-15 Tracer, expected to hit the Indian roads in the coming months.
