Honda CBR250RR is the most powerful twin-cylinder quarter-litre machine one can imagine riding in the present generation of lightweight sportbikes. The motorcycle recently entered the latest generation with exclusive shades and features that are not seen on any nearby rival. Here are 5 must-know facts about the Honda CBR250RR.

5 Must-Know Facts About Honda CBR250RR

1) Excellent Head-Turning Design: The sharp design of the sportbike is complemented by the double-barrel exhaust system, golden USD forks, and huge petal disc brakes. The fuel tank is chiselled to the soul while rear end stays sharper than any other rival around the segment. The front design of the Honda CBR250RR flaunts two aggressive lights and a perfectly designed windscreen.

2) Powerful 250cc Twin-Cylinder Engine: The Honda CBR250RR is equipped with a 249.7cc, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 38.7HP @ 12,500 rpm and a peak torque of 23.3Nm @ 11,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox while the motorcycle claims 179kph of top speed and takes just 6.2secs to reach 100kph from a standstill.

3) Advanced & Very Informative Instrument Console: Honda CBR250RR features an all-digital console with inverted colours. The speedometer value is accompanied by a borderline tachometer, ride-mode indicator and gear-shift indicator. The overall space is very well divided to bring digital clock and odometer into action. The console looks directly derived from a 1000cc superbike-spec machine.

4) Segment-First Features: Honda CBR250RR is equipped with ride-by-wire technology and riding modes. No other motorcycle in the 250cc segment gets these 2 features, not even as an option. The three riding modes are Comfort, Sport, and Sport+. The USD forks were earlier exclusive to the CBR250RR but the MY2020 Yamaha R25/R3 recently got this feature.

Rear 3-Quarter View

5) Launch Status in India: This may not be a piece of good news for Honda fans but the launch of CBR250RR in India is only possible via local production route. At present, the ABS model of the sportbike is available in Japan for 806,760 Yen (INR 4.99 lakh, approximate).

An aggressive and affordable price tag via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route is not possible as placing the CBR250RR at around INR 3.75-4.00 lakh (ex-showroom) would not get the number of buyers required by Honda to keep the operations going.

If Honda starts the local production of CBR250RR and manages to price the sports bike at around INR 3 lakh, only then the brand would be able to get a decent sales number in India.

As of now, HMSI has not announced anything officially regarding the launch of the CBR250RR in India. The brand may consider the sports bike for the Indian market at a later stage in future.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 is a dream motorcycle for those who love tackling odd terrains at all times. As per the latest details available, the 650cc model of the Himalayan adventure motorcycle is expected to launch in India in 2021.

Earlier, the Himalayan 650 was expected to launch in the year 2020 but as the brand is busy in testing the upcoming BS6-compliant models of the Classic series, Thunderbird series, and the 650cc twins, it seems like the Himalayan 650 will take some more time to enter the adventure motorcycle segment. As of now, no test mule of the 650cc Himalayan has been spotted on the Indian roads.

As Royal Enfield’s CEO Siddhartha Lal has already hinted at a bigger Himalayan, one fact that comes clear is that it will share the engine with the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. The 648cc twin-cylinder engine is good for 47HP at 7250 rpm and 52Nm at 5250 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The same engine on the Himalayan 650 is expected to generate a different set of output figures to suit the characteristics of an adventure motorcycle. The present generation Himalayan comes with a 411cc, single-cylinder engine producing 24.5HP at 6500 rpm and 32 Nm at 4250 rpm. The engine feels puny in front of the 648cc twin-cylinder motor but it is still quite responsive in comparison to the rest of the Royal Enfield engines.

The tyre size on the present-gen Himalayan is perfect for the upcoming 650cc model while the ground clearance and suspension travel will change for sure with the new frame. The bigger Himalayan will be offered a lot of design changes to overcome the limitations of the current-gen model while the pricing will stay around INR 3 lakh (ex-showroom).

The wait is over! Benelli 302R has been officially launched in India at INR 3.48 lakh (ex-showroom pan India). Benelli officially started accepting the bookings a few weeks back with a token amount of INR 25,000.

Benelli 302R comes equipped with dual-channel ABS, making it the first sport bike from 2-cylinder category to bring the safety feature as standard in India. This seems pretty impressive as Yamaha R3 is presently discontinued and Kawasaki Ninja 300 is not even offered with optional ABS. This makes Benelli 302R exclusive in its own way.

Benelli 302R is powered by a twin cylinder, 300cc engine that produces 38.26 BHP at 11500 rpm and 26.5 Nm at 10000 rpm. The same engine is employed in Benelli TNT 300. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and helps claim a top speed of 170 kmph in everyday riding conditions.

Benelli 302R comes with a seat height of 780 mm, providing it with the most easily accessible seats in its segment. The wet weight is quite high at 198 kg when compared to the rival Kawasaki Ninja 300 at just 172 kg. This will definitely affect its performance on track riding days.

As Benelli 302R has entered India through CKD route, the part sharing equation with the TNT 300 made it easier for Benelli to get a perfect placement for the full faired sport bike. Benelli bikes are known for their excellent exhaust notes and 302R is the first fully faired racer after the mighty Tornado 1130 in the company lineup.

The bike measures 2150 mm in length, 745 mm in width and 1115 mm in height. This makes it over 100 mm longer than the closest rival. You can buy Benelli 302R in three shades namely White Rosso, Silver Verde and Red Nero. Benelli is currently expanding its dealership network at a fast pace, recently inaugurating one in Mysore last week.

This dealership will cater the needs of buyers through complete Benelli lineup and brings services like 24×7 breakdown assistance to the town. One can choose from number of accessories available at Benelli dealerships for better customization of their products. This takes the total number of dealerships of Benelli in India to 26.

Key Specifications of DSK Benelli 302R

  • Displacement: 300cc, Liquid-Cooled
  • Maximum Power: 38.26 BHP @ 11,500 rpm

The wait is over! Benelli Tornado 302R will launch in India on July 25. Benelli officially started accepting the bookings a few days ago with a token amount of INR 25,000. Benelli will also equip the Tornado 302R with 2-channel ABS, making it the first sport bike from 2-cylinder category to bring the safety feature in India.

This is the perfect time for Benelli to launch the 302R in India as Yamaha R3 is temporarily not available in India and Kawasaki Ninja 300 is not available with ABS. So if someone is looking for a 300cc 2-cylinder sport bike with ABS, the only option in India would be the Tornado 302R!

Benelli 302R is powered by a re-tuned version of twin cylinder, 300cc engine that produces 35.5 BHP at 10000 rpm and 27.4 Nm at 9000 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox, claiming a top speed of 170 kmph in everyday riding conditions. Benelli 302R comes with a seat height of 780 mm, providing it with the most easily accessible seats in its segment.

The motorcycle may claim a price tag of around INR 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be equipped with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). The part sharing equation with the TNT 300 makes it easier for Benelli to revise the pricing of both the models by increasing the localization amount for the motorcycle. Benelli bikes are known for their excellent exhaust notes and Tornado 302R would be the first fully faired racer after the mighty Tornado 1130.

Royal Enfield is working hard on its 750cc, twin cylinder motorcycle as it was once again spotted testing in India. This time, the changes on the motorcycle were clearly visible, replacing the old single seat design with a long one and carrying fuel injection in place of the carburetor setup.

Based on Continental GT’s double cradle frame, the new 750 cc motorcycle could adopt the same single seat as standard and may offer this longer seat as an option. They have even replaced the Pirelli Sport Demon tyres with Phantom Sportscomps for better everyday driving.

Looking more like the Bonneville series motorcycle in its long seat guise, the new 750cc twin cylinder engine would bring ABS as standard for the India spec model.

It will look more like the beefed up version of Continental GT and may even get the same name with a 750 at the end. The frame sharing will keep cost under check while required addition for added strength would be in need for the huge raise in torque. One could expect the value to be 1.5 times the current torque production of Continental GT (44 Nm).

Royal Enfield could introduce the production ready version at EICMA 2017 while launch is expected to come around the starting days of 2018. Expected pricing for the same revolves around INR 4 lakh, most probably being even lower than this figure with higher part sharing.

The rivals on the list are Triumph Street Twin and Harley Davidson Street 750. Both of them are priced at a higher point due to lesser localization and respective branding techniques. After the downfall in Himalayan glory, RE may test this bike to extreme limits before the launch.

Benelli 302R is preparing for the Indian debut as bookings for the twin cylinder lightweight motorcycle has officially started for INR 30,000. A customer can book the bike across all available dealerships of DSK Benelli. No exact launch date for the same was disclosed but as the booking have started officially, they may not take more than 6 weeks to deliver the first motorcycle to its owner.

Rumors regarding the launch of Benelli 302R in January, April and then May were circling the automotive industry from a long time. Benelli recently removed the flagship TNT 1130R and TNT 899 from their official website. Poor sales could be a reason for the same or one could also assume that the engines were not BS4 compliant till date.

Entry of Tornado 302R could help the brand stand high in front of Kawasaki Ninja 300 and even the temporarily discontinued Yamaha R3. This segment will grow more in the coming time as riders are looking for faster and more comfortable alternatives to large, single cylinder engines in India.

Benelli Tornado 302R is powered by a 300cc, twin cylinder, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine producing 35.5 BHP at 10000 rpm and 27.4 Nm at 9000 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and claims an overall weight of 180 kg.

Benelli claims a top speed of 170 kmph while 0-100 kmph timing is still undisclosed for the motorcycle. It carries an excellent 780 mm of seat height, helping short riders fulfill their dream of riding a supersport class motorcycle with much ease. The list of expected equipment includes ABS on the 302R.

Update 2 – June 13, 2017 | Clear Spy Video of 750cc Twin-Cylinder Royal Enfield Motorcycle

Royal Enfield’s 750 cc twin cylinder motorcycle was recently again spotted sprinting on the Indian roads. Continental GT’s body design and a much bigger engine ensures that it comes up with an exclusive spot in the Indian market. It was seen with the same twin black exhaust and cafe racer style front fuel tank on this test mule. The video was shared by Anuraag Raut on his Facebook page.

The sitting position seems better than Continental GT and the rear section had some sort of machine tied to itself, covering the section that was once seen under the cowl. For those who love riding with pillion, the motorcycle is clearly seen with rear footpegs near the suspension. The engine feels huge around GT’s body line.

Update 1 – May 15, 2017 | Fresh Spy Photos of 750cc Twin-Cylinder Royal Enfield Motorcycle

Royal Enfield’s twin cylinder motorcycle was recently seen in the most clear images of itself ever. The same was seen parked somewhere in India and these closeup shots reveal a lot about the actual built of the motorcycle. These images by BikesMedia can help the users compare the new 750cc, twin cylinder Continental GT with the actual one.

The first and the biggest difference is the presence of a big radiator on the recently spied motorcycle. Continental GT 535 is air cooled and does not have same on its body, making the new motorcycle heavier by a considerable margin.

royal-enfield-continental-gt-750-spied

Fresh Spy Photos of 750cc Twin-Cylinder Royal Enfield Motorcycle

Then comes the big twin cylinder engine that fully covers the area under the long fuel tank. In case of the present generation 535 cc GT, the bay area is quite empty and relaxed. The rear Paioli suspension is replaced with a different unit while the tyres even look different and wider. ABS can be clearly spotted on the rear disc brake.

The motorcycle gets twin exhaust that is currently Black but may get Chrome covers in the production version. All other parts are identical to Continental GT while this can be a camouflage to hide the actual design of the motorcycle. Infact, the Clubman handlebar is even an exclusive feature on the new motorcycle.

royal-enfield-continental-gt-750-spied-engine

Royal Enfield can actually place the twin cylinder body parts at the last moment as testing with this design can help them keep the design a secret from all the fans. The twin cylinder motor on the same is made in order to rival the Harley Davidson Street 750 and Continental GT’s single seat design may not help them fulfill this dream.

This is the only reason to expect a full length seat on the new motorcycle while they have even extended the chassis by a small margin. Royal Enfield may place the same around INR 4 lakh to cut down the price of its rival by at least INR 1 lakh or even more.

Benelli Tornado 302R will launch in India on June 2, 2017 in India. The bookings for this fully faired motorcycle had started officially few weeks back. It was first seen at EICMA 2015 while its entry at Auto Expo 2016 confirmed that it will launch in India soon.

The whole process took more than one year while further delay came with the implementation of BS4 norms across the country. The bike was expected in January 2017 while it took more time for the approval of BS4 compliant engine for the 302R.

Benelli Tornado 302R India Launch on 2nd June

The launch in June would be the right time as absence of Yamaha R3 narrows the competition to just Kawasaki Ninja 300. The design language of Benelli Tornado 302R is typically super sport inspired while its front carries huge twin LED lights.

The placement of panels shift the visible weight towards the front end. Tornado 302R comes with the same frame as TNT 300 while the overall weight increases by 7 kg on the fully faired version. Major reason for the increase in weight is the new exhaust system.

benelli-tornado-302r-red-white

The use of a different 14 liter fuel tank on the motorcycle decreases its overall range while on the same time helps keeping weight under check. The 300 cc, twin cylinder engine on the motorcycle is good for 38 PS at 10000 rpm and 27.4 Nm at 9000 rpm.

The values re identical to the TNT 300 and may help them keep the cost under check by sharing the same engine. The fuel supply on the motorcycle has been improved from the last generation TNT 300. Benelli 302R can be priced under INR 3.50 lakh (including ABS).

2018 Kawasaki Ninja 250 was recently rendered by Young Machine, bringing a tough competitor to Honda CBR250RR. Undoubtedly, CBR is the most appealing motorcycle of its segment currently but if things go the same way as imagined, Kawasaki could win over the crown of the most aggressive motorcycle in the quarter liter segment.

The front seems to be inspired from the current generation design but gets addition of full LED headlight, Black inserts, sharp nose and 2017 Ninja 650 inspired center section.

This rendering shows the integrated turn indicators into the side fairing while golden USD front forks look perfect on the sharp profile. The present design of Ninja 250R is the same one that we regularly see on India spec Ninja 300.
