Hero MotoCorp has announced that it is developing its motorcycle based on the Harley-Davidson X440 platform. The X440 was developed by Hero and Harley-Davidson, and it was recently launched in India with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 2.29 lakhs. The Hero version of the X440 is expected to be more affordable than the Harley-Davidson model. It is also likely to be more accessible to riders in India. In terms of looks, the 400cc Hero bike is expected to take some design cues from the Hero XF3R concept motorcycle.
The Hero X440 is expected to be a more sporty take on the Harley-Davidson X440. The two motorcycles are likely to share the same base engine and chassis. But the Hero version is expected to have more edgy styling, more involving ergonomics, and 17-inch wheels. Sources have also indicated that the Hero X440 will have its own distinct sound that is different from the Harley-Davidson model. This is likely due to a different exhaust system that will be used on the Hero bike.
The Hero 440cc motorcycle is also expected to target a younger audience than the Harley-Davidson X440. This means that it could offer even more features than the Harley model, such as a more advanced electronics package. It is possible that the Hero 440cc will have a different cubic capacity than the Harley-Davidson X440. This would help to further differentiate the two bikes and make the Hero 440cc more appealing to a wider range of riders.
The Hero 440 will be sold through many new premium Hero dealerships that will be opening in the coming months. The Hero 440 is also expected to be serviceable across the country. A few weeks ago, there was news of Hero working on many premium machines, including the new 440cc bike. Next to the little, Harley has a silhouette of a naked bike on the same paper. This further bolsters the idea that the Hero 440cc derivative could follow the form factor of a naked bike. The launch of the Hero 440 is slated to take place by March 2024.
