Bajaj Pulsar 220F is the greatest bike of its segment of all time. Just to make this fact more concrete than ever, you would love to know that it still sells almost 1 lakh units every year. The Pulsar 220 you see here has been heavily modified to suit the needs of a customer who loves full-faired sports bikes.

The modifier has replaced the semi-faired body design of the Pulsar 220F with an all-new side fairing with dual-tone front fascia and extended front windscreen. Also, the exhaust unit on this modified motorcycle looks like one we usually see on a superbike. The stock model’s small front disc has been replaced with two big petal disc brakes.

The rear under-seat panel is now sharper than ever while fuel tank carries dual-tone red and carbon fibre finish. Front and rear tyres used here are wider than stock one from Bajaj Auto. Pulsar 220F is powered by a 220cc, single-cylinder oil-cooled engine, which generates 20.64 Bhp of maximum power at 8500 rpm and 18.55 Nm of peak torque at 7000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Bajaj retails the stock model of the Pulsar 220F for around INR 1.07 lakh (ex-showroom) and it comes equipped with a single disc brake at either end and a 1-channel ABS unit as standard.

Heavily-Modified Bajaj Avenger by VampVideo: Motorcycles and excess modifications aren’t something new that we haven’t heard of. While some modifications entirely offer you a new machine unrecognised on every level, there are still some extraordinary works that have a way of accentuating your motorcycle’s appeal and keeping the original profile of the motorcycle intact. One such modification video we came across is of the Bajaj Avenger that has been uploaded by a Youtube channel VampVideo.

At a closer look of this heavily-modified motorcycle, one can recognise it to be a Bajaj Avenger though, the extraordinary work done is a treat for the eyes. The yellow and green dual-tone paint job on the modified Avenger sets it apart from the crowd while the reshaped retro fuel tank adds on to its distinguished persona. The motorcycle has been equipped with aftermarket headlight as well as blinkers.

The customized brown seat saddle and the revamped handlebar multiplies its superior looks while the aftermarket alloy wheels complete its overall exclusive design. The customizer has also offered an all-black treatment to the suspension system as well as the engine. The addition of a custom ‘Assault Barrel’ exhaust system, a wide rear tyre, and the offset placement of the number plate sets the motorcycle apart from its standard version.

Apart from the cosmetic changes, there aren’t any mechanical changes offered to this modified Bajaj Avenger. It continues to be powered by a 220cc, single-cylinder DTS-i oil-cooled engine capable of generating a maximum power of 19.03 HP at 8,400 rpm and a peak torque of 17.5 Nm at 7,000 pm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with twin shock absorbers. The Bajaj Avenger features a single disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. The brand has equipped the current version of the motorcycle with a single-channel ABS unit for additional safety on the roads. At present, the stock model of the Avenger 220 is available in India for INR 1.04 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

According to a recent report, TVS is likely to unveil their Zeppelin cruiser in production form at the Auto Expo in February 2020. Zeppelin 220 is the brand’s next big motorcycle and it is expected to be the star of the show. It is being said that TVS Motor is putting a lot of effort in the Zeppelin project while the testing of the motorcycle is expected to commence shortly on the Indian roads.

The initial unveiling of the power cruiser at the Auto Expo 2018 showed the motorcycle with an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) with assist motor as well as an HD camera. Though, in order to keep the production cost under check, the brand will be skipping certain features for the production version.

As per the reports, the TVS Zeppelin will get major body parts inspired from the Apache RTR 200 including the headlight, instrument console as well as the switchgear. The motorcycle will feature an LED headlight setup with premium plastic cladding for the body panels.

The concept motorcycle was equipped with golden USD front forks to give it a distinguished look though, the brand is likely to replace them with conventional forks to meet the design requirements of every individual plus to keep the production costs in check. The rear end of the motorcycle will get an adjustable monoshock absorber.

The production version of the motorcycle is expected to get dual-channel ABS for added safety. The concept motorcycle was showcased with a contemporary brown and black colour scheme, which gives it a well-finished look while the retro-inspired headlamp adds on to its persona.

Mechanically, the TVS Zeppelin will be powered by a 220cc single-cylinder, air-cooled motor, inspired from Apache 200’s engine. There is no information on the exact specs of the powertrain though it is expected to generate higher output in comparison to the Apache RTR 200 4V. The brand will most probably equip the power cruiser with a BSVI-compliant engine. Being positioned in the TVS portfolio above the Apache 200, the TVS Zeppelin is expected to get a price tag of INR 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

TVS Motor is working on 2 new motorcycles based on the Zeppelin Cruiser for the Indian market. Both these bikes will be based on the 220cc concept, which was unveiled at the Auto Expo in February 2018. The production version is expected to be unveiled by the end of 2019 or at the next Auto Expo in February 2020. Yes, you read it right, the Zeppelin-based cruiser motorcycle is just a few months away from the unveiling.

It would have taken this much time for the brand to test the product thoroughly and launch it in two different designs. Both will carry the all-new 220cc single cylinder engine showcased under the Zeppelin concept. The engine segment rivals none other than Avenger 220 series while the use of premium equipment could place it closer to the price segment of the Royal Enfield Classic 350.

One version may carry a normal engine while another version can feature the hybrid setup. Another rival for these new products will come from UM in the form of new Duty 230. As all these products are conventional petrol-powered cruisers, motorcycles based on Zeppelin are expected to carry an integrated starter generator equipped engine for saving fuel while idling.

Belt drive may not be on offer at production as it will raise the cost of Zeppelin based products by a large margin. Most probably TVS will manufacture a dark themed and a chrome-laden version to cater to the needs of both types of buyers. The Zeppelin cruiser could feature options like backrest and alloy wheels for both the versions.

Electric assist option is of great use in adding more power to the engine through power use from a battery. TVS is presently the most innovation-friendly brand of India as they promise a product every year and display a mouth-watering concept at every Auto Expo.

Zeppelin 220 concept was showcased with LED lights, USD forks and many more features that could be missed for an effective segment placement. If they wish to retain all this, the price will fall around bigger Jawa motorcycles. Still, TVS Zeppelin will prove its worth as every other TVS product.

TVS Zeppelin was first seen as a concept at the 2018 Auto Expo. The showstopper falls in the cruiser category of motorcycles, targeting buyers who are in the need of a sports cruiser. However, the concept will take a few more months to turn production-ready. Here are 7 must-know facts for the TVS Zeppelin 220.

7 Must-Know Facts About Zeppelin 220

1) First TVS Cruiser Motorcycle

TVS is known for the production of commuter, street and sport bikes, leaving the cruiser segment empty from the last three decades. The Zeppelin 220 features low seat height, forward-biased foot-pegs and smaller than usual rim size. All these guarantee high levels of comfort and control from the motorcycle.

2) New Age Design

The extended fuel tank, sharp tail section and raised pillion seat add modern lines to the package. The engine bay is neat, perfectly filled and highlighted with silver inserts. TVS is using belt-drive for the concept version, making it the first motorcycle of its segment to carry the feature. The headlight is derived from a typical modern street machine.

3) Premium Components

TVS Zeppelin 220 comes with premium 41mm USD front forks, full-LED headlight, belt-drive and grippy Pirelli tyres. The addition of a sporty exhaust system, finished in black shade and independent tyre hugger makes Zeppelin an eye-candy for bike lovers.

4) Launch Date & Expected Price

Zeppelin is expected to use a 220cc engine. The same can either be derived from Apache 200’s engine or made from scratch for torque-biased performance. TVS is expected to launch the Zeppelin cruiser with an approximate ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.40 lakh in India. The official launch is expected to happen at the Auto Expo in February 2020.

5) Rival Motorcycles

The cruiser rivals none other than Bajaj Avenger 220 and Royal Enfield Thunderbird in its lineup. The recently launched Jawa 300 is another indirect rival for the motorcycle. UM Commando, although priced at a very different point, also rivals the upcoming cruiser.

6) Instrument Console

The console on the Zeppelin is semi-digital, divided through physical breaks for easy differentiation and clean layout. The console has an analogue tachometer, digital speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge. The rival cruisers from Bajaj are available with completely digital units while Royal Enfield uses an analogue console.

7) Performance & Boost Technology

The 220cc engine is good for 20 BHP at 8500 rpm and 18.5 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine comes with a 5-speed gearbox. The unique electric boost system of Zeppelin can help riders achieve more mileage per refill. The system is not yet confirmed for the production version.

Bajaj Pulsar 220F registered a sales growth of 23% in April 2019. The motorcycle scored 8,485 units during the 30-day period and left behind a lot of motorcycles, including the Yamaha R15 V3. Bajaj is betting big on the DTS-i series as adding single-channel ABS to these bikes resulted in a price increase of approx INR 6500.

However, the sales number posted by the Pulsar 220F also clears that the design language of the decade-old Pulsar is still among the favourite ones in India. The highest selling model of the lineup is Pulsar 150, even after the introduction of new colour variants by every possible rival in the Indian market.

Bajaj Auto claims 134 kph of top speed for the model while the acceleration time may vary highly with the weight of the rider and wind direction.

The 2019 model of the Pulsar 220F with 1-channel ABS costs INR 1.07 lakh and saves a lot of money for those who are not into the RS200 league. The buyers who still feel the same to be expensive, getting the new Pulsar 180 Neon is the perfect option at INR 94,800 (approximate, ex-showroom price).

First revealed at the Auto Expo 2012 in Greater Noida under the name of RE60, the Bajaj Qute faced many hurdles over the years in terms of regulations. An amendment in the policies from the Government of India has finally made it possible for Bajaj to launch the Qute quadricycle in India. It has been launched in 2 variants, the petrol model is for personal use and the CNG model has been specifically designed for commercial use.

The petrol variant of Bajaj Qute comes with a price tag of INR 2.48 lakh while the CNG model can be had for INR 2.78 lakh. The prices are much higher than what most sources expected for the Qute. Both the prices are ex-showroom Maharashtra. The Bajaj Qute is also available in Delhi, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Kerala, Rajasthan, UP and Orissa.

New stipulations were formed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways when they decided to approve the quadricycles and change the policies. According to these new regulations, a vehicle will be considered a quadricycle only if it has a curb weight of fewer than 475 kilograms and passes the safety, emissions, and crash tests that are mandatory. These safety standards are considered to be more strict than the ones set in Europe for the same category.

Other manufacturers and policymakers have been openly disapproving Bajaj Auto but the Qute is all set to make a statement and a name for itself. The quadricycle gets its power from a 216cc single-cylinder water-cooled petrol engine which has been mounted at the rear of the vehicle. Bajaj Qute comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and the top speed claimed by the company is 70 kph. The mileage stands at 35 kmpl and 43 km/kg for petrol and CNG respectively. Here are the key technical specifications of Bajaj Qute.

Bajaj Qute Specifications

  • Engine Displacement – 216cc

Bajaj Pulsar 180F vs Pulsar 220F (Drag Race Video): Rough Rider Azam is here with a comparison of acceleration and the top speed of two most loved motorcycles of 2019. Bajaj Pulsar 220F rivals its younger cousin, the Pulsar 180F in this drag race. The bigger Pulsar definitely had the lead in both the departments but, the comparison shows how effectively the Pulsar 180F sprints and achieves 100 kph with ease.

The external design and majority of components are similar while the 220cc, single cylinder, oil cooled engine is definitely the first choice of performance lovers. The price gap is huge enough to keep budget-oriented buyers in the 180F arena for as long as the brand plans.
