The much-awaited KTM 250 Adventure has been recently revealed by the brand in a set of official photos. The speculations of the Austrian brand unveiling it at the EICMA 2019 turned out to be false considering the fact that the adventure motorcycle has been made only for the developing countries like India, and at present, the brand has no plans to launch it in the European markets.

Coming to the design language, the off-road motorcycle features the same traits as that of its elder 390cc sibling though getting an affordable price tag. The use of a halogen headlight setup mated to LED DRLs sets the KTM 250 Adventure apart from the 390 Adventure, which has been equipped with an all-LED headlight.

Powering the 250 Adventure is a 248.8cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 30HP and a peak torque of 24Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The suspension duties are handled by 43mm inverted forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a monoshock unit.

The KTM 250 Adventure features a 320mm disc brake with a four-piston radial calliper at the front and a 230mm disc brake with a single-piston calliper at the rear end. The adventure motorcycle is equipped with MRF Mogrip Meteor-FM2 dual-purpose tyres. The ground clearance and seat height of the motorcycle stand at 200mm and 855mm respectively.

The brand has skipped the ride-by-wire technology as well as traction control for the 250 Adventure to keep the cost in check though, the disengagable off-road ABS mode still exists. Like the 390 Adventure, the 250cc model is also equipped with a coloured TFT instrument console.

The motorcycle is currently BS4-compliant, and as per the latest available, the brand is expected to launch the 250cc Adventure variant in the Indian market with a BS6-compliant engine. One can expect an ex-showroom price tag of INR 2.50 lakhs for the KTM 250 Adventure motorcycle. It will compete in the Indian market with the likes of Hero XPulse 200, BMW G310GS, and even the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Latest Yamaha FZ Series Price List: Yamaha FZ series is India’s most popular entry-level street fighter series from last one decade. It was originally launched with a 153cc, air-cooled and carburettor-fed engine. With time, Yamaha realized that fans have started looking for fuel-efficient options under the same popular design theme.

The brand then introduced a new 149cc, single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that became popular under the name FZ V2. The same engine is now operational under the V3 moniker, producing 13.2HP and 12.8Nm of overall output. The FZ V3 and the FZS V3 comes with single-channel ABS as standard.

Yamaha FZ lost some power with the fuel injection upgrade but simultaneously, an overall decrease in weight from its body weight compensated for the loss. The present generation model delivers 45kmpl of mileage in everyday riding conditions.

Yamaha soon understood the need for more power and introduced the 249cc, oil-cooled and fuel-injected FZ25 for INR 1.34 Lakh (ex-showroom), including the dual-channel ABS feature. After the recent price hike, the 250cc bike is now available at INR 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom). The overall output is healthy at 20.9HP. Here is the latest price list of FZ series in India.

Complete List of 250cc Bikes in India: The quarter-litre motorcycle segment was once the bestseller for sportbike lovers in India. As the demand for power increased, the brands started moving into the 300cc segment by increasing the displacement of their existing engines. Yamaha made R3 out of the R25 while CBR250R gave birth to the South Asia-spec CBR300R.

Honda CBR250R

The trend was similar among both single and twin cylinder engines. Even Kawasaki did the same move and introduced the Ninja 300 after limiting the Ninja 250 into displacement-sensitive markets. The most popular 250cc motorcycle in the Indian market is Yamaha FZ25. The engine is shared among the FZ and Fazer version, leaving the brand with common sales figure for both the body types. Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is the most recent entry to the segment with INR 1.71 lakh as the price tag (ex-showroom).

Apart from these, KTM Duke 250 and the Honda CBR250R are other two bestsellers of this segment. After these four, the lesser-known names like Hyosung GT250RC and FB Mondial Hipster are also available in the Indian market. After the discontinuation of the Benelli TNT 25, the brand recently re-entered the 250cc segment with the launch of the Leoncino 250 with an ex-showroom price tag of 2.50 lakh.

KTM 250 Duke

The first seven names listed here offer impressive value for money and affordable maintenance costs while others are limited to certain units for their exclusive presence in certain cities and lower overall output. Apart from these, only KTM is expected to launch a quarter-litre RC sportbike based on the same engine as Duke 250 in the year 2020. It can be priced around INR 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

One of the most anticipated motorcycles, the KTM 250 Adventure has been spotted testing on the Indian roads for the first time. The adventure motorcycle has been circling the news since long while the fans are eagerly waiting for some details on the upcoming quarter-litre bike.

The spy shots feature the motorcycle in a completely camouflaged look though, one can easily recognise that the spied motorcycle is KTM 250 Adventure as it features a halogen headlight setup instead of the full-LED setup offered to the recently surfaced test mules of the 390 Adventure.

Since the brand has already equipped the KTM 390 Duke with an LED headlight, one can easily expect its Adventure variant to feature the same. In addition to this, the KTM 250 Duke has been equipped with a halogen lamp upfront thus confirming the test mule to be the 250 Adventure motorcycle.

Apart from the difference in the headlight setup, the test mule of the motorcycle features almost identical features as that of the 390 Adventure. One can also spot the use of a fully-digital TFT display on the 250cc adventure variant, which was initially considered to feature a standard console.

In addition to this, the brand has also equipped the upcoming 250 Adventure with identical Continental-branded tyres as seen on its 390cc sibling. The motorcycle also features the same crash guard as well as the pannier setup.

Since KTM is expected to offer an affordable price tag to the 250cc Adventure variant, one can further expect it to offer the KTM MyRide connectivity as well as other premium features as an additional accessory for their production variants.

The brand is expected to unveil the 390 Adventure at the EICMA next month though the recent reports suggest that the Indian launch of KTM 250 Adventure will take place in the initial months of 2020.

Powering the upcoming 250cc variant will be a BS6-compliant engine and since the KTM Duke 250 offers a maximum power of 30hp and a peak torque of 24Nm, the power and torque figures will most likely be tuned to suit the characteristics of the 250 Adventure.

The entry-level Scrambler by Benelli, Leoncino 250 has been finally launched in India with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 2.50 lakh. The bike marks itself as the new entry in the quarter-litre segment after the Benelli TNT25, that was discontinued in 2018. The styling of the Leoncino 250 resembles a lot to the recently-launched Leoncino 500 except for the oval headlamp and new graphics, which gives it a distinguished appearance.

If we go by the dimensions of the 250cc Leoncino, it is 2030mm in length, 840mm in width, and it measures 1115mm in height. The motorcycle has a ground clearance of 170mm while it gets 12.5 litres of fuel tank capacity. The wheelbase of the Leoncino 250 stands at 1380mm.

Talking about the design of the bike, it gets a steel trellis chassis, premium-looking components, and an all-new digital instrument cluster. The Leoncino 250 is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine that is capable of producing 25.8HP of maximum power along 21Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The suspension duties of the bike are handled by a 41mm USD telescopic forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear.

For braking, the bike gets a petal-shaped 280mm single disc at the front with axially mounted callipers and a 240mm single disc at the rear end. The motorcycle is equipped with dual-Channel ABS as standard. The Benelli Leoncino 250 rides on a 110/70-R17 tyre at the front and a 150/60-R17 tyre at the rear.

This bike is the first scrambler-style 250cc motorcycle to go on sale in India so there is no direct competition in the market. As present, the bike is priced on the higher side in comparison to the rest of the 250cc bikes available in the Indian market though, the price of the Leoncino 250 is expected to drop once the components of the bike become localised in the coming months.
