SV Stickers, a very famous vehicle customization shop in Chennai has recently unveiled a newly customized dual-tone Royal Enfield Himalayan, wrapped in gloss blue and pearl white colours. The adventure motorcycle looks nothing short of perfection. The stunning blue colour of the body panels with contrast detailing has offered the off-roading bike a rather distinguished look.

The fuel tank of the motorcycle has been wrapped in the gloss blue shade while the customizers have offered a contrast pearl white finish in the centre of the fuel tank that also supports red outlines. A similar kind of detailing has been offered to the front mudguard as well as the rear panel of the bike. Apart from these cosmetic changes, the customizers have not offered any mechanical changes to the motorcycle.

Powering the Royal Enfield Himalayan is the same 411cc, BS-IV engine, capable of churning out a maximum power of 24.5 Bhp at 6500 rpm and a peak torque of 32 Nm at 4250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The motorcycle features 300mm disc brake at the front while the rear gets a 240mm disc brake. The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear.

Royal Enfield Himalayan has been subjected to major criticism ever since its initial launch. The buyers faced multiple issues with the motorcycle in terms of broken chassis, footpegs falling off, rusting and other manufacturing defects.

The brand has been conveyed through a petition started by RE Himalayan riders some time ago where they asked the brand to take care of the defects. According to a recent video received by us from a Maxabout enthusiast, it seems like the quality issues still exist with the Himalayan adventure motorcycle.

Video: Royal Enfield Himalayan Breaks in Two Parts

As you can see in the recent video, the Royal Enfield Himalayan broke in two parts. The rider was cruising through the roads of Leh and Ladakh when the accident occurred. The chassis of the motorcycle suddenly broke causing the rider to fall off drastically while riding.

Since he was wearing protecting riding gear, the effects from the fall were minimum. According to the received video, the bike’s half-duplex split cradle chassis fell off when it was running at the highest speed. As seen in the video, the rider also pointed out the welding defects in the motorcycle that caused the bike to be torn in half.

We are not yet sure of the actual cause of the situation. The motorcycle might have a weak chassis due to being a neglected rented property or the rider might have hit a large pothole while the bike chassis was not able to handle the impact.

Whatever the cause may be, the motorcyclists across the country have had similar situations in the past as well. It is high time that the brand takes these manufacturing defects in their pride and solve the issues being faced by the Royal Enfield Himalayan riders.

To recall your memory, the RE Himalayan has been recently updated by the brand with a 2-channel ABS unit. The motorcycle is powered by 411cc, air-cooled engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 24.5 bhp at 6500 rpm and a peak torque of 32 Nm at 4250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The motorcycle is available in India at a price tag of INR 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom).

Automotive customization is one of the few trending things that is skillfully overtaking the automobile market with crazy and over the top bike wraps capable enough to give your bike an all-new look. KAC (Knight Auto Customizer) is a car & bike wrapping company in Chennai that has gone over the top with the idea and has custom wrapped a Bajaj Dominar 400 with the concept of ‘The Walking Dead’ and have nicknamed it the Zombie edition.

Knight Auto Customizer has updated the fuel tank, rear under-seat panels, and the side fairing across the LED headlight with a mix of white and red splattered-paint wrap that actually gives a whole new apocalyptic look. The fuel tank gets a “Zombie Knight Rider” sticker mounted at the centre while other Zombie-inspired stickers across the edges add up to the whole supernatural ordeal. The wrap has essentially made the Dominar 400 look exceptional and actually out of a Zombie movie.

Bajaj Dominar 400 Zombie Edition

The wrapped model you see here is based on the last-gen Bajaj Dominar 400. No mechanical changes have been made to the bike’s engine and it continues to be powered by a 373.3cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is capable of producing a maximum torque of 35 Nm at 6500 rpm and a maximum power of 35 HP at 8000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Bajaj recently launched the 2019 model of the Dominar 400 in the Indian market. As present, it is available with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.80 lakh.

Autologue Design has once again left the audience mesmerised with their all-new Bajaj Domivel 2.0 concept. The extraordinary customization to the motorcycle has been recently revealed by the designers on their Instagram handle. Taking inspiration and style dynamics from the Ducati Diavel 1260, the Domivel 2.0 concept shrieks of perfection.

Coming to the rendering, the Bajaj Dominar 400 has been equipped with a Ducati Diavel 1260 inspired fuel tank panels flowing towards the rear while the same design has been offered to the engine panel located below the fuel tank. Coming to the headlight design, the customizers have offered the same meaner look to the LED headlight as seen on the Diavel 1260.

Apart from the excellent cosmetic upgrades, the motorcycle has not been revised mechanically. Powering the Bajaj Domivel 2.0 will be the same 373.2cc, DOHC, single-cylinder engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 40 HP at 8650 rpm and a peak torque of 35 Nm at 7000 rpm.

The engine will remain mated to a 6-speed transmission while the suspension and braking duties also remain the same. The Bajaj Domivel 2.0 concept has not been brought to reality as of yet. Considering the huge enthusiasm among the fans, Autologue Design is highly likely to develop a prototype very soon.

The 400cc bikes in India are limited to just six options, that too counting three options from Bajaj and KTM that are based on the same engine displacement and different outputs. The most affordable among all is the Bajaj Dominar 400, priced at INR 1.80 lakh and coming with standard equipment like a digital console, USD forks, 2-channel ABS, and a steel frame. The motorcycle weighs 184 kg and rivals Royal Enfield Classic 350 for its price. The availability of Jawa 42 has given unexpected competition to the Dominar.

Bajaj Dominar 400
Bajaj Dominar 400 Offers Excellent Value for Money

KTM RC 390 and Duke 390 are powered by a high output 373cc engine, producing 43.5 HP of maximum power. The torque value differs for both the bikes, with Duke producing 37 Nm at 7000 rpm. The pricing for both KTM models feel slightly out of place while features make Duke 390 a better buy among both the bikes. Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by a 411cc engine, producing 32 Nm of maximum torque at a much lower rpm range. It weighs a lot and can only be considered by buyers who look forward to tough adventure riding.

Kawasaki Ninja 400
Kawasaki Ninja 400 is the Most-Powerful 400cc Bike in India

Kawasaki Ninja 400 is the best 400cc bike that one can buy in India. It is overpriced by almost INR 1 lakh, all thanks to the CBU route with higher than usual taxation. Ninja 400 is powered by a 399cc, twin-cylinder engine producing 49 HP of maximum power. The decent wet weight further makes Ninja 400 the best sprinter that one can buy under INR 5 lakh. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom Delhi.

Benelli is all set to grace the Indian market with their Imperiale 400 cruiser, which has been designed specifically for competing with the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350, and the new Jawa motorcycles. As per a recent report, Benelli will reportedly keep the price tag for the Imperiale 400 under INR 2 lakh (ex-showroom) in order to make it available to a larger segment of the audience and get a competitive lead.

The brand after its split from the DSK Motowheels has been constantly focusing on rebuilding its power in the automobile market, thus, justifying the launch of its new series of motorcycles in India. Benelli recently relaunched the TNT 300, 302R, and the TNT 600i in India.

The company has also launched the much-awaited Leoncino 500, TRK 502, and the TRK 502X in the Indian market. In addition to these, Benelli is also planning to launch 150cc-250cc scooters in the near future. In order to increase its reach, the company is also working very actively on opening new dealerships and service centres in the Indian market.

Commenting on the launch of Imperiale 400, Vikas Jhabakh, Managing Director of Benelli India stated: “We will be launching Imperiale 380cc to 400cc bikes either by the fourth quarter of the calendar year 2019 or the first quarter of 2020”. In addition to this, he also commented: “With this, we will take on Royal Enfield in the same segment.”

Taking the pioneer like Royal Enfield under the list of its greatest competitors, the Imperiale 400 cruiser gets a 373.5cc single-cylinder engine, capable of churning out a maximum power of 20HP and an utmost torque of 28Nm while the Royal Enfield Classic 350 is powered by a 346cc single-cylinder engine that is good for 19.8HP of power and 28Nm of torque. The Benelli Imperiale 400 is also expected to get the same wheel specifications as that of the Royal Enfield Classic, with almost similar kerb weight.

KTM 390 Adventure is one of the much-awaited bikes in India, and as per the latest details available, the official launch will happen in November this year. So this means that most probably we will see the launch of 390 Adventure happen in India after its official unveiling at the EICMA 2019.

The Duke 790’s India launch has been postponed due to delay in its homologation process so the company is shifting its focus towards the launch of 390 Adventure. The India-spec Husqvarna motorcycles are also expected to launch in November.

The KTM 390 Adventure was recently spotted testing which reveals much about its exterior design. The bike appeared to be running on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. The production-ready model that was seen testing was equipped with touring-oriented accessories which raised the question that whether there will be a pure touring focused version or an off-road based variant with spoked wheels. It seems like KTM is working on multiple variants of the 390 Adventure.

Mechanically, the KTM 390 Adventure will use the same engine as in the 390 Duke. The 373.2cc motor is capable of producing 44 HP of maximum power and 37 Nm of peak torque. Though we can expect the engine to be tuned differentially, maybe we can see an increase in torque so as to make the bike more adventure specific.

Talking about the comfort, the seat of the bike looks wide and high whereas the distance between the tyre and rear seat confirms extended suspension travel on the upcoming model. Moreover, it has got an ample amount of ground clearance. The handlebar of the test mule can be seen equipped with knuckle guards and its lower section features crash protectors.

Coming to the pricing, the 390 Adventure can cost about INR 30,000 to INR 40,000 more than the 390 Duke, making it an INR 2.80-2.90 lakh motorcycle, which means it would still cost less than its nearest rival, the BMW G310GS, which is priced at INR 3.49 lakh. KTM 390 Adventure will launch with BSVI-compliant engine, and the same updated engine will also make its way into the 390 Duke and the RC 390 in early 2020.
