New Bajaj Discover 125 ST-R Officially Unveiled

Bajaj Discover ST-R is the most recent experiment from the Indian manufacturer, first launched in Colombia to recover from the sales drop that is witnessed in the Discover series worldwide. Inspired by the Discover ST variant that earlier was on sale in India, this typical motorcycle has an added appeal to its attitude through the use of sportier components and improved design lines. Looking at the front, the facial design is almost similar with a shorter than ever visor, sloping headlight glass, minimal fairing, and crystal clear indicator lens. The alloy wheel design is familiar, and so is the exhaust design with chrome finish at the end. The element of surprise comes through the monoshock, leaving a clear rear area with a sporty tail section, well designed under seat panels and divided tire hugger. The fuel tank looks all new, thanks to the extended shrouds that enhance the overall first look appeal. For those who have seen Discover since its launch days, they will notice the tank to be the same one as seen on the ST variant. The engine area is well painted, raising a point that they missed the same paint scheme for panels near the monoshock and left them silver. The engine used here stays the same 124.59cc, single-cylinder unit, producing 12.8 HP of maximum power and 10.8 Nm of torque. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Indian market was earlier expected to get a 125cc Pulsar but soon after, an interview by Rajiv Bajaj confirmed that they won’t be considering this step. The report brings higher chances of Discover 125 ST-R’s launch in India. If not, Bajaj will definitely launch an all-new 125cc motorcycle to take on the rising popularity of Honda CB Shine and Hero Glamour. Bajaj Auto currently retails a respectable number of 100cc and 150cc bikes.
