Bajaj Pulsar 180F vs Pulsar 220F (Drag Race Video): Rough Rider Azam is here with a comparison of acceleration and the top speed of two most loved motorcycles of 2019. Bajaj Pulsar 220F rivals its younger cousin, the Pulsar 180F in this drag race. The bigger Pulsar definitely had the lead in both the departments but, the comparison shows how effectively the Pulsar 180F sprints and achieves 100 kph with ease.

The external design and majority of components are similar while the 220cc, single cylinder, oil cooled engine is definitely the first choice of performance lovers. The price gap is huge enough to keep budget-oriented buyers in the 180F arena for as long as the brand plans.

Bajaj Pulsar 180 Neon vs Pulsar 220F (Quick Comparison): Bajaj Pulsar 180 Neon is now officially listed on the website for INR 87,000 (ex-Delhi). The price tag is applicable for just two weeks as mandatory ABS inclusion will bring a rise in the ex-showroom price, seen on almost every brand’s best selling series of bikes from the last few months. Visually, the only difference noticed between Bajaj Pulsar 180 Neon and 220F is the use of different exhaust design and colour schemes. To a person who is not into motorcycling, it is hard to differentiate both the models. On the other hand, a keen eye will look into the minor details.

The official website of Bajaj Auto shows the older model of 220F as belly pan has already been added to the ABS model. The Neon series now comes in 150 and 180 engine option while 220F is still the flagship product when it comes to DTS-i lineup of engines. Bajaj has already introduced single-channel ABS in Pulsar 220F, 180, and 150 Twin Disc while remaining models like 150 Neon, 150, 180F Neon and NS160 are yet to be seen with the mandatory safety feature. Here is a quick comparison between the popular Pulsar 220F and recently launched Pulsar 180 Neon.

Bajaj has finally launched the much-awaited Pulsar 180F in India with a price tag of INR 87,000 (Ex-Showroom Delhi). Based on the same design language as its elder sibling, the Pulsar 220F, the newly launched model gets a name tag of Pulsar 180 Neon.

As per the official website of Bajaj, the bike is available in the Neon Orange colour combination with the grab rails and the Pulsar logo finished in Orange colour. The orange accents on the body panels justify its sports bike look. Before the official launch of Pulsar 180F, the bike was spotted in one more shade (Black with Red highlights). It is expected that Bajaj will update the official website with the images of Neon Red shade in the coming days.

Bajaj Pulsar 180 Neon (180F)
Bajaj Pulsar 180 Neon (180F) Officially Launched @ INR 87,000

Powering the Bajaj Pulsar 180 Neon (180F) is a 178.6 cc, single cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 17.02 HP at 8,500 rpm and an utmost torque of 14.22 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It gets a fuel tank capacity of 15 litres while the wheelbase of 1345mm is perfect for handling the bike well on every terrain.

The engine specifications have been borrowed from the Bajaj Pulsar 180 thus offering rather same fuel efficiency. The braking duties are handled by a 260mm disc brake at front and a  230mm disc at the rear. One of the absurd facts considering the launch of Bajaj Pulsar 180F is the fact that the company has skipped ABS for the same. Though, we can expect the brand to introduce a single channel ABS later keeping in mind that the Government has officially made it mandatory for bikes above 125cc starting April 1, 2019.

Bajaj has been known for rolling out some of the most extraordinary updates and the one offered to the Pulsar 180 surely seems massive. The 2019 Pulsar 180F has been in the news from last few days, and now the listing of the product on official Bajaj banner under the Neon Edition page has made things clearer. Borrowing the style tactics from its elder sibling 220F, the Pulsar 180F gets a price tag of INR 87,450 (ex-showroom), which is INR 2500 more than the standard variant, all thanks to the new fairing.

The 180F comes without the single-channel ABS and their updated model will launch within March 2019. This is a massive upgrade considering its price tag and one can expect a price jump of INR 6000-7000 for the 1-channel ABS variant. The new updates go all the way to the fairing as well as some new graphics, though, there have been no changes made to the mechanical bits. The Bajaj Pulsar 180F continues to be powered by a 180cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine capable of churning out a maximum power figure of 17 bhp and an utmost torque of 14.22 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Coming to the new graphics and colours, the Bajaj Pulsar 180F has been brought with two new colour schemes: Gloss Black with Red logos and Matte Silver with Orange logos. The suspension duties haven’t been altered for the 180F and it gets the same 260mm disc brake at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear. The bookings for the bike are now open with a token amount of INR 1000 at some of the Bajaj dealerships across India. Popular YouTube channel named Dino’s Vault has already given the first ride review. You can click on the banner below to check out the video to find out more about the highly anticipated 180F.

Bajaj Pulsar 180F vs Pulsar 220F (Quick Comparison): Pulsar 180F is an intelligently-introduced variant that uses the semi-faired body from the Pulsar 220F and saves a lot when it comes to the initial spending and overall ownership cost of the motorcycle. The drop in 40cc of displacement improves mileage and reduces the service cost of the motorcycle, resulting in an economical package for those who need the styling of Pulsar 220F and performance of a 180cc bike. Bajaj has introduced the Pulsar 180F at INR 86,500 while the Pulsar 220F without ABS costs INR 98,700. The initial price difference among both the bikes is INR 12,200. The prices for both the bikes are ex-showroom.

Bajaj Pulsar 180F
2019 Bajaj Pulsar 180F (Non-ABS)

However, the 220F is also available with single channel ABS for INR 1.05 lakh, clearing the fact that when Pulsar 180F will arrive with the same ABS unit, it will cost approx around INR 92,800. The first impact of a sub-1 lakh price tag is much positive than even a figure that is a few hundred rupees over the psychological barrier of INR 1 lakh. Technically, the Pulsar 180F uses the refined motor from the commuter-specific Pulsar 180 and adds the stylish semi-faired design for just INR 1500 over the regular one. Pulsar 220F comes with a unique exhaust design while regular one is seen on the 180F.

This is the only visual difference that a layperson can see in the first attempt. Second, the Pulsar 180F comes with Neon-inspired colour theme where monikers are painted accordingly. The 180F is powered by a 17 HP, 180cc engine while the Pulsar 220F uses an oil-cooled 220cc motor producing 20.93 HP. Bajaj is yet to introduce ABS in all variants and more than that, they have not yet listed the ABS variants of Avenger, Pulsar 220F and even the non-ABS Pulsar 180F on the website. The official launch of Pulsar 180F is expected to happen in the coming days.

New Bajaj Pulsar 180F (Mega Photo Gallery): Pulsar 180F can be seen here with all its glory in the recent set of real-world images. The motorcycle looks identical to the Pulsar 220F and thus, gathering fan following will not take much time here when the bigger cousin is about to cross INR 1 lakh in the coming days. Pulsar 180F is seen with the Neon-inspired graphics with colour highlights on the grab rail, side fairing, and Pulsar moniker. The differentiating point for both the bikes is the use of regular exhaust system on the Pulsar 180F. However, the rider will also notice the difference in power that comes with a reduction of 40cc in comparison to Pulsar 220F.

The seats are well padded and overall finish is praiseworthy for the new Pulsar 180F. Priced at INR 86,500 and yet to be listed on the official website, this model definitely brings a better deal than any of the non-ABS 150cc streetfighter around the segment. The matt finish seen here looks perfect with the matching engine/gearbox casing and rear footpeg holder. The 180cc, single cylinder engine on the motorcycle is shared with Pulsar 180, producing 17.02 HP of maximum power and 14.22 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The ex-showroom price of Pulsar 180F is INR 86,500 for the non-ABS model. Bajaj will launch the single-channel ABS model in the coming weeks.

The Bajaj Pulsar 180F video review by Dino’s vault has confirmed that the motorcycle has started reaching dealerships ahead of its official launch. However, the price tag of INR 86,500 stays true to the 180F as Bajaj has skipped the option of ABS by listed the Pulsar 180F as a different variant and not a new model. The jump of just INR 1500 for the fairing has confirmed that they are in full mood of spoiling the segment-dominating position of 150cc street machines of India. The Pulsar 180F video review shows the motorcycle in the Black shade with Red highlights like the Pulsar 150 Neon. The most happening thing here is the Pulsar 220F derived fairing and identical stance, resulting in the commanding overall riding position.

Pulsar 180F Video Review

The Pulsar 180F is powered by a 178.6cc, single cylinder engine, producing 17.02 HP of maximum power at 8500 rpm and 14.22 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle will receive ABS upgrade in March 2019 as Bajaj is expected to gauge user interest for their model in the first phase. The powerful headlight, along with impressively finished engine bay, and the use of Red highlights have resulted in this impressive segment-killer. As TVS has no faired model under the Apache RTR lineup, Bajaj will exclusively rule the segment until a competitor arrives. Dino has claimed 118 kph of top speed (speedo-indicated) for the model and riding the same feels better than the Pulsar 180.

According to a recent report by Thrustzone, the Bajaj Pulsar 180F has leaked before its official launch in India. The same report claims that the price tag for the new model will be INR 86,500 (ex-showroom). The design lines are derived completely from the 220F on the new Pulsar 180F. The idea of bringing a faired version of Pulsar 180 with just a minimal price hike seems impossible on the paper, but Bajaj Auto just skipped ABS for now and did the job by bringing just INR 1500 as a hike. The regular 180cc Pulsar is yet to receive ABS and thus, possibility of Pulsar 180F being the replacement is all time high.

On the other hand, the possibility of a Pulsar 150F is now over as YouTuber Dino’s Vault has revealed the motorcycle completely before its launch. The given price of INR 86,500 has been justified with the absense of single-channel ABS and addition of fairing to the 150cc Pulsar. Undoubtedly, the skipping of ABS and using the semi-faired design in INR 1500 was also a smart move. The current-gen Pulsar 150 Twin Disc is priced at INR 80,794 and Bajaj Auto can match the elements from both Neon 150 and Twin Disc variant to save on the additional cost if a faired 150 variant is planned for the future.

The paint scheme seen on the Pulsar 180F is matching to the one seen on Pulsar 150 Neon. The ex-showroom price for Pulsar 220F will definitely cross the INR 1 lakh mark with ABS and those with strict INR 1 lakh on-road budget could fulfil their dreams through this recently leaked model. The sales chart shows that the 150-200cc segment is booming like no other with benefits in insurance cost and additional safety inclusions. Bajaj silently halted the Pulsar 135 production and before the mandatory ABS rule comes into action, it is possible for other products to have a similar fate too.
