Yamaha R15 V3 vs Yamaha MT-15 (Drag Race Video): The drag race between Yamaha MT-15 and R15 V3 has brought impressive results for those who were confused between the selection process. The video clears that those who need a burst of acceleration can go for the streetfighter while fans travelling highway distances above 100 kph can go for the R15 V3. The aerodynamics instantly kick-in when the rider crosses 100 kph on the speedometer, leaving MT-15 struggling to achieve the top speed at the same pace as the R15 V3.

Drag Race Video: Yamaha R15 V3 vs Yamaha MT-15

The rider neatly gets behind the windscreen while the one on the MT-15 will need to add a visor to keep the winds away, that too not as effective as the sharp fairing of the R15 V3. The top speed for both the bikes will stay around 140 kph on the speedometer, with body weight playing an important role here. The MT-15 comes for INR 1.36 lakh while those considering Yamaha R15 will need to spend INR 1.40 lakh. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom India.

KTM 125 Duke vs Suzuki Gixxer SF (Drag Race): KTM 125 Duke can be seen sprinting with Suzuki Gixxer SF in this video by Rough Rider Azam. The initial acceleration by Gixxer SF was really impressive as the motorcycle gained a lead over the 125cc Duke in a matter of few seconds. The things changed once the Duke started gaining some speed, clearly overtaking the Gixxer SF in triple-digit range and winning with a decent margin. However, the speedometer error on the Gixxer SF showed that it is faster than the Duke 125, even when it was struggling to keep up with the premium streetfighter.

The error became visible once both the riders passed the 120 kph mark. KTM 125 Duke is priced much higher in comparison to the Gixxer SF but power output is better on the affordable version. The fully-faired motorcycle is not just cost-effective but also features impressive shades that look awesome on the faired body while changes on the Duke are limited to the fuel tank only. Bajaj Dominar 400 is one capable machine with hundreds of benefits when compared to other bikes around its price. The limelight was stolen from this capable sports tourer by none other than the BMW G310R in this drag race video. FULL GASS planned a drag race for both these bikes and results were pretty shocking for Bajaj’s most powerful machine.

Better acceleration on the BMW G310R is a result of lightweight body construction while Bajaj Dominar carries a lot of extra weight for such short burst races. The higher power to weight ratio of G310R is one great way to achieve head-turning red light starts. Bajaj Dominar 400 produces a lot more torque with its bigger 373.2cc, liquid cooled engine but 182 kg of wet weight is almost 24.5 kg higher than its rival. Also, gearing plays an important role while drag racing and BMW seems to have efficient ratios for an almost wheel lifting start.

Drag Race: G310R Beats Dominar

BMW G310R is powered by a 313cc, single cylinder engine producing 34 HP at 9500 rpm and 28 Nm at 7500 rpm. It was recently launched in India for INR 2.99 lakh while Bajaj Dominar 400 can be had for almost half this price in India. The difference in price makes them almost incomparable in real life. BMW G310R is being manufactured at the TVS facility in Chennai and still it is priced on the higher side. The brand also launched the G310GS in India for INR 3.49 lakh (Ex-showroom India).

Bajaj Dominar 400 is a value for money product with 35 HP of maximum power and 35 Nm of torque. It primarily rivals Mahindra Mojo in its segment. Buyers also consider going for Yamaha FZ25 as this lightweight street machine has similar acceleration numbers. However, the bigger engine on Dominar 400 is good for a more powerful top end (higher top speed). Bajaj will soon launch the updated 2019 model of Dominar in India. It is expected to get upside down forks and an all-new double barrel exhaust. Click here to know more about the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400.

A drag race between TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Hero Xtreme 200R has cleared how well both the motorcycles have been made by the respective brands. The comparison also clears the position of the newly launched Xtreme in front of its biggest rival. The drag race starts with Xtreme 200R giving tough competition to the Apache till 60 kph. Suddenly, the power surge from Apache’s engine is witnessed with a clean gap between both the riders.

As Hero has itself claimed a great 0-60 kph time for their motorcycle, it seems like doing 100 kph is also not that bad. The motorcycle struggles to gain speed once the 100 kph mark is crossed while the Apache can be seen cutting the wind and getting an even wider gap in the triple-digit speed range. Apache 200 is seen touching 124 kph in this sprint, with the same rider on the saddle that was earlier on the Xtreme. Both the bikes are offered with a 5-speed gearbox.

KTM Duke 390 Beats BMW G310R in a Drag Race: YouTube channel FullGass is back with another mouth-watering comparison. This time, they are here with the same BMW G310R but now against an amazingly powerful KTM 390 Duke. The change in rival motorcycle has resulted in BMW G310R losing the crown that it earlier earned by drag racing the Bajaj Dominar 400. The difference in acceleration is pretty visible as Duke 390 can be seen moving away from G310R in the smoothest possible manner.

The difference in engine size and use of better technology on the Austrian machine helped it score much better on almost every term. KTM 390 Duke is the most powerful motorcycle of its segment, carrying a 373cc, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine. The motor comes with ride by wire technology and claims 43 HP of maximum power and 37 Nm worth class-leading torque.

All this power is channelized through a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. The sharper panels on KTM 390 Duke are more aerodynamically efficient and thus, reduces drag to get faster sprints. The motorcycle is priced at INR 2.39 lakh and uses an all-new TFT console with smartphone integration. It would have been even faster if strict norms would not have made that bulky side exhaust mandatory on the 390 Duke.

BMW G310R, on the other hand, is beautifully crafted to take on lightweight street bikes of India. It seems more comparable to Duke 250 as the younger one also has claims impressive levels of performance. Still, the 313cc, fuel injected on G310R is good for 34 HP and 28 Nm. The premium pricing of both these bikes limits the number of buyers in almost all developing markets. G310R is now on-sale in India for INR 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom India). The bike claims a top speed of 143 kmph while KTM 390 was seen crossing 165 kmph (speedometer indicated) in many ownership and review videos.

RE Classic 350 vs Yamaha R15 V3: This drag race may feel inappropriate to many cult followers of both bikes but YouTube channel ‘2Wheels 24/7’ has given us an idea of how two different segments of bikes will perform on road in comparison to each other.

Here we have Yamaha R15 Version 3.0 and Royal Enfield Classic 350, racing on an empty strip of road to see how impressively both brands have managed to channelize the power from these engines to their rear wheels. Yamaha R15 V3 used here is finished in Thunder Grey shade while Classic 350 comes in Gunmetal Grey Edition.

The use of this special shade must have helped the rider get more stopping power with the rear disc brake. To keep things under check, different rounds were considered with both riders interchanging motorcycles in these rounds. The lighter body of Yamaha R15 resulted in an impressive start while Classic 350 still proved its mettle with a powerful start for first half of the distance.

RE Classic 350 vs Yamaha R15 V3

The difference increased gradually as Yamaha R15 helped the rider achieve higher levels of aerodynamic benefits through its windscreen. On the other hand, Royal Enfield Classic had no such provision and higher weight made it even more prone to wind resistance.

Classic 350 is an impressive 346cc machine but weighing close to 200kg makes it slower in comparison to almost 140kg Yamaha R15. This 60 kg of weight difference means the rider needs to have a pillion weighing 60kg on Yamaha R15 to get the weight equation right.

Going the other way, shredding 60kg from Classic 350 is next to impossible as the base frame of this motorcycle is heavier and built to last long time on rough roads too. Yamaha R15 V3 comes with a 155.1cc, single cylinder engine producing 19.04 BHP and 15 Nm of torque while Classic 350 offers 346cc engine with 19.8 BHP and 28 Nm of massive torque.
