Revolt RV400 is the first bike to feature AI-powered electric powertrain in India, starting an era of modern designing, connectivity, and efficiency under a single brand name. The motorcycle comes with certain segment-first features, leaving not even the sound that comes from the exhaust without any visible signs of the smoke-emitting part.

The sync between the accelerator and exhaust sound is so pure that every rev of the throttle brings this exclusive experience alive on the RV400. The silent nature of electric motorcycles may put some threat to their existence in the world where enthusiasts love sounds from their exhaust more than anything else on the road.

Revolt offers an application for the smartphone that acts as the basic controller of the RV400. The sound section on the application comes with different pre-loaded sounds namely Revolt, Roar, Rage, and Rebel. It offers a unique exhaust sound with every single touch on the display of your smartphone. These sounds resemble different outputs as one can be seen matching to a four-cylinder superbike while others bringing the two-stroke experience alive.

The Revolt sound is slightly basic while the fourth option is the loudest of all with a custom exhaust feel. However, the options are not just limited to these only. The Revolt RV400 owners can also download more sounds to be used as the exhaust note while only those available from the official sources will have the sync feature.

The feature works in real-time as the rider will not even need a restart of the application or start-stop the motor before applying the next sound. The unique exhaust sound feature is a great addition but for those who are looking into peaceful riding, all the sounds can be turned off easily from the handlebar.

Revolt RV400 is expected to arrive with a price tag of around INR 1.10-1.20 lakh in India. The bookings for the motorcycle will open from June 25 with a token amount of INR 1000. You can pre-book the RV400 on the official website of Revolt Motors and on Amazon as well. The deliveries of the e-bike are expected to begin from the last week of July.

Electric motorcycle startup Tork Motors is trending in the news as they have revealed the launch timeline for its T6X motorbike. The much-awaited product will launch in India by the end of this year. Tork Motors is a Pune-based electric motorcycle company that has been working on the T6X from a past few months.

Where almost all of the other two-wheeler manufacturers are focusing on electric scooters, Tork Motors is preparing itself to launch their first electric motorcycle in India. The company has also started constructing a factory in Chakan (Pune) with a capacity to bring out 20,000 motorcycles in a year. Currently, the company operates at the industrial hub of Bhosari and is preparing to target Pune and Bangalore for the initial launch.

Tork T6X

The CEO of Tork Motors, Kapil Shelke, recently said: ”All the electronics have regulatory approval. That takes care of the major approval requirements for the vehicle and the balance of the components will be certified as they start coming in. Instead of going all out, we will prefer to see the market reception and slowly build it from there. The assembly will start then. The company will give a touch and feel of the bike through the experience centres”.

Shelke also told that the lithium-ion battery for the bike would be imported from a South-East Asian country and the rest of the components will come from the 200 suppliers that have a tie-up with the brand. Also, he cleared that Tork T6X will have 90% local components. Shelke said that the company was looking up to Bharat Forge’s experience who has invested INR 30 crore in Tork Motors for a 45% stake in the electric motorcycle brand.

Coming to the upcoming bike, the production version of the T6X was spotted testing in January this year. It is powered by a 72AH lithium-ion battery which can withstand 1000 cycles and also can regain 80% of its charge in just an hour of charge. The motorcycle is good for 27 NM of maximum torque.

Tork Motors claims that the bike can cruise at a speed of 100 kmph and will weigh just 130 kgs. The bike features trellis frame chassis along with conventional telescopic front forks and monoshock suspension setup at the rear. Braking performance of the bike would come from a 267mm disc brake for front and a 220mm disc at the rear.

Like many EVs, the Tork T6X would also get a regenerative braking feature which will allow the battery to charge whenever the brakes will be applied. At the time of the official unveiling in September 2016, the bike got a price tag of INR 1.25 lakh but now its cost may go up a little bit as according to the CEO they have vastly improved the product.

Tork Motorcycles could be the next big thing in India in the electric vehicle segment. It is a Pune-based startup which has introduced first commercial Eco-friendly motorcycle Tork T6X after 7 years of consistent hard work and research. Founded by Kapil Shelke, and funded by Ankit Bhati and Bhavish Aggarwal of Ola Cabs, the company has got its manufacturing unit at Chakan near Pune. The motorcycle will be priced at INR 1.25 lakh, raising the bar of current electric two-wheelers of the country with its powerful and efficient motor. The manufacturing facility is almost ready and Tork Motorcycles plans to sell 5,000-10,000 units every year.

10 Quick Facts About Tork T6X

1) Made in India – A proud moment for all the Indian citizens, the Tork T6X is purely designed and developed in India. The components are purely localized and the only imported component is the Li-ion battery. This also helped in keeping the costs considerably low for the T6X and would further help when it would come to servicing and maintenance of the bike.

2) Purely Electric – Tork has made the T6X with an intention to leave the dependency on fossil fuels. Unlike modern hybrids with regeneration and start-stop systems, the Tork T6X carries an electric motor and runs continuously over the electric power only. It uses a Brushless DC 6KW motor and a lithium ion 72 Ah battery.

3) Surprisingly Great Performance – The Tork T6X has an impressive performance with its low 130 kg of weight and 27 Nm of torque available from the idle stage. You can imagine a Ninja 300 producing the same at 10,000 rpm and weighing around 50 kg more than this one while it does the same from the start only. A claimed top speed of 100 kph is again the best you can have for an electric city bike.

  • Motor Type: Brushless DC 6kW (peak)
  • Mileage: 100 km per charge
  • Maximum Torque: 27 Nm
  • Maximum Speed: 100 kmph
  • Transmission: Single speed
  • Regenerative Braking: Yes
  • Battery Type: Lithium Ion
  • Estimated Charging Time (80%): 60 min
  • Battery Box: Cast Aluminium IP67
  • Safety: Advanced Battery Management System

4) Impressive Mileage – The motorcycle can go for 100 km on a single charge, which will definitely vary with the amount of load and number of persons on the saddle.
