MG Motor's First Experience Store Inaugurated in India

The bookings for the MG Motor’s Hector started recently on June 4 in India. Bookings can be done online or by reaching the dealerships by paying a token amount of INR 50,000. Starting from June 15th, the customers can also schedule test drives for the MG Hector at their nearest showroom. The company plans to open 120 centres across India by the end of June which will be further doubled to a total of 250 centres by the end of September 2019. Recently, the company has opened its one-of-its-kind flagship experience store in Sector-15 in Gurugram. The store provides a fresh automotive experience to all of its visitors. The exterior of the store adopts a unique facade grill in the shape of an “Unturned Mountain”, which signifies the confluence of sky and earth. Coming to interiors, the visitors coming to the store are greeted by well known British cultural icons such as Big Ben, the Union Jack, telephone booths, and street lamps. The styling of the store is unique which feels good. Also, a host of MG memorabilia is strategically placed around the entrance, which shows visitors of the brand’s past glories. The most interesting set up at the store has a large wall of 36 connected TVs which plays artfully created brand videos to further engage visitors with immersive content about the brand’s history and future vision. One screen is of 55-inches, and this configurator wall has the largest live configurator screen and is set up in a 6-by-6 format which ensures a unique experience. The store also has a section with various vehicle components, such as the ‘Engineering Corner’ which features the revolutionary 48V Hybrid engine on display. Prospective customers can approach the configurator wall to define their own MG experience. Visitors can also have their choice of models, transmission type, and fuel variant, before proceeding to customize the looks, feel, and accessories that their MG’s will come equipped with. The showroom also consists of modern office space that has been designed to recreate the look and feel of a classic British street. Women professionals currently comprise 32% of the brand’s employee base which is the highest in the Indian auto industry. The upcoming SUV is available in a total of 13 variants while the expected price at which Hector would start is INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom). Photos Source
