According to recent reports, the BS6 Hero Xtreme 200S and XPulse 200T are all set to be launched by the brand soon. Powering both the updated motorcycle variants will be a BS6-compliant engine that was initially seen on the BS6 Hero Xpulse 200. After removing the BS4-compliant variants of the motorcycles from the official website, the brand has once again listed the Xtreme 200S and XPulse 200T recently, which confirms that their BS6-compliant variants are ready to be launched.

BS6 Hero Xtreme 200S
BS6 Hero Xtreme 200S Official Launch Soon

The Hero Xpulse 200T is a touring version of the XPulse 200 adventure motorcycle while the Hero Xtreme 200S is the sports version of the Xtreme 200R street naked motorcycle.

The brand has recently updated the Hero XPulse 200 with a BS6-compliant engine. The 199.6cc, fuel-injected, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine on the motorcycle is now capable of offering maximum power of 17.8HP @ 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 16.4Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The power and torque values of the motorcycle have been decreased with the up-gradation to meet the BS6 emission norms and one can expect the BS6 XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S to offer the same performance values.

BS6 Hero XPulse 200T Official Launch Soon

The motorcycle variants are further expected to get an increased kerb weight with the addition of an oil-cooler though the official specifications once revealed by the brand will put an end to all the speculations.

The brand is expected to reveal the price tag of the BS6 XPulse 200 at Hero MotoCorps’s official website while the price reveal will be considered as the official launch of the motorcycle as the brand cannot plan a launch event due to the nationwide lockdown to curb the COVID-19 (Coronavirus). The launch prices of the BS6 Hero Xpulse 200T and Xtreme 200S are also expected to be revealed after that in the coming days.

The Auto Expo Component 2020, the event held in parallel to the Auto Expo 2020 witnessed the revealing of the Hero XPulse 200T Police Edition by the most famous beacon light manufacturers in the country, Sholphin India. The customized motorcycle from the brand has been able to gather a lot of attention from the viewers considering its unique styling that has made the otherwise uninteresting product look quite compelling.

The modified XPulse unit has been equipped with a red/blue beacon lights at the front just below the indicators while the rear has also been equipped with the same though positioned above the rear indicators. In addition to this, the crash guard of the customized police motorcycle has been equipped with an additional auxiliary LED light.

Apart from this, the Hero XPulse 200T Police Edition has been equipped with a larger windscreen at the front with POLICE written on top while the same graphic detailing has been offered to the front mudguard. Sholphin India has further offered the motorcycle a triple storage compartment at either side as well as the rear while a pillion backrest has also been added.

In addition to this, the customized police motorcycle also features aftermarket panniers adding to the functionality. The motorcycle in its BS4 avatar is available to the customers in Candy Red, Black, Matte Gold and Matte Grey colour schemes while Sholphin India has only made use of the Matte Grey colour variant for realising the customized motorcycle for the police force in India.

Apart from the addition of several necessary features for a police motorcycle, the Hero XPulse 200T Police Edition has been kept mechanically altered. Powering the motorcycle is the same 200cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 18.4HP and a peak torque of 17.1Nm. The BS4-compliant engine on the motorcycle is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The overall profile of the customized motorcycle looks out of the ordinary and would be a perfect choice for the police force to make it available to the troops.

The 200cc Hero X-series motorcycles will define the brand’s character in 2019, offering four different body types through the use of their diamond frame. The brand was earlier tagged primarily for the commuter bikes but now, the four options are truly promising for every rider who wishes to jump from either 125cc or 150cc segment in India. Here is everything that you need to know about the 2019 Hero X-Series motorcycles (Xtreme 200R, Xtreme 200S, XPulse 200T, and XPulse 200).

200cc Hero X-Series Motorcycles

Everything You Need to Know

Hero Xtreme 200S
Hero Xtreme 200S
Hero XPulse 200T
Hero XPulse 200T

Design & Looks

Hero MotoCorp has worked hard to differentiate the design lines of all the bikes falling under the segment. The Xtreme 200R comes with a standard street-specific design while Xtreme 200S comes with enhanced fairing and unique headlight design to announce its presence. The XPulse series is available with a round headlight, with 200T getting a mild-touring stance. On the other hand, the raised exhaust and huge front tire on the XPulse 200 confirm that it’s made for a purpose. The exhaust design on the Xtreme 200R is different than all the other 3 bikes.

Engine & Gearbox

The four motorcycles are using 199.6cc air-cooled carburetted engine to produce 18.4 HP at 8000 rpm and 17.1 Nm at 6500 rpm. Apart from the four options, the special XPulse 200 Fi variant offers fuel injection and thus, claims a bigger price tag than usual. All the engines are available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Hero MotoCorp is sharing the same power and torque configuration among all their 200cc motorcycles to keep the costs in check.

Top Speed & Mileage

Hero Xtreme 200R claims a top speed of 112 kph while Xtreme 200S is said to reach 122 kph of top speed. The former lacks the top end push that comes into the latter with the aerodynamic fairing. The mileage for Xtreme 200R is 39.9 kmpl while the same can be expected from the 1 kg heavier faired motorcycle. On the other hand, XPulse can be expected to return around 34-36 kmpl of mileage due to lack of any air-channelling design approach. Also, the top speed can be anything over the 110 kph mark but, that won’t matter for most buyers.

Brakes & Suspension

200cc Hero X-series motorcycles are available with single channel ABS as standard. All the five variants are sharing the same 276mm front disc brake while the rear is available with 220mm disc brake on the first four variants. The Xpulse 200 Fi is available with 220mm petal disc brake at the rear end. The suspension components on the Xtreme 200R, 200S, and XPulse 200T are exactly similar (37mm front forks with anti-friction bush and 7-step rear monoshock) while the XPulse 200 is sold with 37mm forks with Double DU Bush and 10-step adjustable rear monoshock. The wheel travel on this model is 190mm for the front and 170mm for the rear.

New Hero X-Series Console
The Xtreme 200S, XPulse 200, and the XPulse 200T are Equipped with an All-Digital Console with Bluetooth Connectivity

Lighting & Instrument Console

The front and rear LED lights are standard on Xtreme 200S, Xpulse 200T, and the Xpulse 200. On the other hand, the taillight on the Xtreme 200R is LED-powered while its headlight is halogen. The same case is applicable on the instrument console as Xtreme 200R uses a semi-digital unit in comparison to the modern all-digital console of the other three bikes with navigation support and smartphone connectivity.

Dimensions & Capacities

All the four models are different from each other, sharing the basic frame, brakes and even the suspension parts to some extent. The cost-cutting measures are fully active and believing the fact that the top model costs just INR 1.05 lakh is pretty hard. Here is the detailed comparison between all the models.

Hero MotoCorp has launched three new 200cc bikes in India in order to expand its portfolio in the premium segment. The first motorcycle is the highly anticipated XPulse 200 adventure bike, the second motorcycle is XPulse 200T, the touring version of XPulse, and the third new bike is Xtreme 200S, the fully-faired version of the Xtreme 200R. Here is the complete ex-showroom price list of the three newly launched 200cc bikes:

  • XPulse 200T – INR 94,000
  • Xtreme 200S – INR 98,500
  • XPulse 200 – INR 97,000
  • XPulse 200 Fi – INR 1.05 Lakh
Hero XPulse 200
Hero XPulse 200

All three 200cc bikes are powered by Xtreme 200R’s 199.6cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, which churns out a maximum power of 18.4 HP at 8000 rpm, and a peak torque of 17.1 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Earlier Hero MotoCorp offered the 199.6cc engine only on the Xtreme 200R and offering all the newly launched motorcycles with the same engine will allow the brand to cut the engine production cost thereby justifying the competitive prices. At present, the brand is offering fuel injection as an option only on the XPulse 200, while they may offer the same on the XPulse 200T, Xtreme 200R, and the Xtreme 200S in the coming months.

All three 200cc bikes are equipped with a 276mm single front disc brake and a 220mm single rear disc brake. The motorcycles come with a single-channel ABS unit as standard. The suspension duties are handled by conventional telescopic forks at the front while the rear end is equipped with a monoshock.

Hero XPulse 200T
Hero XPulse 200T

The Hero XPulse 200 looks rather muscular and tall while the adventure motorcycle features an LED headlight plus a front visor. In order to enhance the off-roading capabilities, the bike features a high-mounted side exhaust and a bash plate to protect the engine. XPulse 200 gets 21-inch spoked wheel at the front and an 18-inch wheel at the rear.

Coming to the city-specific tourer, the Hero XPulse 200T gets a conventionally mounted side exhaust and features 17-inch alloy wheels with road-biased tyres. It is expected that the brand may offer the wind visor as an accessory to the XPulse 200T customers.

Hero Xtreme 200S
Hero Xtreme 200S

Hero Xtreme 200S, the fully faired version of the Xtreme 200R takes on the Suzuki Gixxer SF, Bajaj Pulsar RS200, and the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 in the Indian market. The Xtreme 200S features a wide LED headlamp design, a step-up seat while the fairing features multiple angular lines. The black alloy wheels and the exhaust muffler though remains almost similar to the Xtreme 200R. We feel that Hero MotoCorp could have worked on a better design as the Xtreme 200S looks unproportionate from a lot of angles.

All-Digital Instrument Console
All 3 Motorcycles are Equipped with an All-Digital Instrument Console

Both the Hero XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T, as well as the Xtreme 200S, features an all-digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. The console displays real-time mileage, trip-meter, date, distance to empty on the right side while the left part of the console displays a speedometer, a tachometer, an odometer, a fuel gauge, a digital clock, and a gear indicator. According to the latest details available, the deliveries for the three newly launched 200cc bikes will start by the end of this month.

The design of the production-ready adventure motorcycles has been fully revealed in a new set of live photos shared by one of our fans on WhatsApp, and we must say that both the motorcycles look quite impressive.

Hero XPulse 200T
Hero XPulse 200T

The all-new XPulse 200T is the road-oriented touring version of the XPulse 200, which is a pure off-road motorcycle. As seen in the images, the bike looks very attractive in vibrant colour schemes. The front design of the motorcycle looks muscular with an all-LED headlight while the tail light of the bike has a thin design profile. Both the variants of the XPulse comes with a metal bash plate below the engine for protection.

Hero XPulse 200

Hero XPulse 200 series will be powered by Xtreme 200R’s 199.6cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which generates 18.1 Bhp of maximum power and 17.1 Nm of peak torque. The xPulse adventure motorcycle series will also get fuel injection. The 200T will get less suspension travel than the more off-road oriented Xpulse 200 while both the versions will come with single-channel ABS as standard.

The seat of the motorcycle looks comfortable but the level of comfort would be clear once the bike goes on sale in the Indian market. The design of the handlebar is also different on both the XPulse variants. The bike gets a fully digital instrument console which includes a speedometer, a tachometer, a trip meter, an odometer, plus a lot of other necessary indications. The XPulse is also expected to feature Bluetooth connectivity and GPS navigation as standard.

Hero XPulse 200 Fuel Injection

After the official launch in India, this bike won’t be having a direct rivalry as at this price point, it will be a one-of-its-kind motorcycle with both adventure and touring capabilities. The XPulse 200 is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag between INR 1,00,000 to INR 1,15,000. At present, the Royal Enfield Himalayan is the only option for the adventure motorcycle fans of India with a budget of under INR 2 lakh.

After several speculations on the launch of the most affordable adventure motorcycle, the Hero XPulse 200 is all set to be launched in India on May 1, 2019. The XPulse was initially showcased at EICMA 2017 and after months of waiting, the brand will be introducing the XPulse 200 for the pure off-road experience in addition to the XPulse 200T, the touring version of the motorcycle. Based on the underpinnings of the Xtreme 200R, the adventure motorcycles are expected to be priced in close proximity of INR 1.00-1.15 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Hero XPulse 200T
Hero XPulse 200T

Powering both the Hero XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T is a 199.6cc, single cylinder, air cooled engine borrowed from the Xtreme 200R though, the power and torque figures of 18.4 HP and 17.1 Nm may vary on the adventure motorcycles. The Xtreme 200R is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox while the gear ratios will vary on the XPulse 200 series.

Both the adventure motorcycles will feature LED headlight, all-digital instrument console as well as a single-channel ABS unit for additional safety. The XPulse 200 has been designed keeping in mind the off-road factors and relaxed ergonomics while the touring version XPulse 200T has been designed for city commutes and long road trips.

Hero XPulse 200
Hero XPulse 200

The adventure motorcycles are equipped with front and rear petal disc brakes. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front with 190mm travel while the rear gets a monoshock absorber with 170mm travel. A high seat height of 825mm was seen on the concept model while the motorcycle is expected to get a good amount of ground clearance to tackle all kinds of terrain.

The XPulse 200 will come equipped with 90/90-21 front and 120/80-18 rear Ceat Gripp tyres. The motorcycles will also get smartphone connectivity and GPS navigation as standard. The upcoming bikes will be the most-affordable additions to the off-road and touring segment in India. The Xpulse 200 would be competing indirectly with the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan available for INR 1.80 lakh. At present, the RE Himalayan is the only adventure motorcycle with an ex-showroom price tag of under INR 2 lakh in India.

Hero XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T were recently spotted with production-ready equipment in Turkey. The missing number plates confirm that the motorcycles were ready for a commercial shoot. The T moniker stands for touring, with these images further clearing the difference between both the variants. The XPulse 200 is seen here in gloss white shade while XPulse 200T is available with plain black shade in the images. Hero MotoCorp will definitely bring more shades for both the models as multiple occasions showed them in different shades in India. Both the variants share the same frame and basic design language.

Hero XPulse 200T comes with black alloy wheels, street tires and two different versions of exhausts, both being lower mounted for regular use. The rear grab rail features bag holding capability on both the models. XPulse 200 comes with spoke wheels, off-road specific tires and high mounted exhaust that will stay safe during off-road riding. Apart from the difference in rubber, these two have different levels of suspension travel for better differentiation. The front round headlight and rear flat LED tail light also stay similar between both the bikes. The all-digital console is expected to offer class-leading connectivity options for ease of use during long distance travels.

Another difference is seen through covers of the front suspension on XPulse 200, with fender used here looking similar to typical off-road bikes. A close look will also reveal the engine protector that stays exclusive to the off-road variant. All these parts may be available as an accessory with the xPulse 200T but stock fitted exhaust and tires offer better practicality than spending more on the visual enhancement of the motorcycle. Hero MotoCorp is expected to use a powerful 199.6cc, single-cylinder engine with different state of tune in comparison to the Xtreme 200R. The front brake ABS stays standard on all variants while price could start from INR 1 lakh. Hero XPulse series is expected to launch in India in April 2019.

Hero MotoCorp has delayed the launch of its most-awaited adventure motorcycle once again. The XPulse launch has now been pushed further to March 2019. It has been almost one year since the bike was first unveiled to the world at the 2017 EICMA. However, the focus of the company has shifted to the Xtreme 200R across the country before bringing in yet another product. The launch of the Xtreme 200R was followed by that of the Destini 125 and the brand will soon launch the Maestro Edge 125. These three launches are at the forefront of the company’s schedule; the only one suffering is the XPulse.

A source from the company said, “We’re focusing on the Xtreme 200R, Duet 125 and Maestro Edge 125 launches. Once we are through this, our focus will shift towards the XPulse launch which we are really excited about.”

The XPulse draws its power from the same 200cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine as the Xtreme 200R. However, there is a slight difference; the gearing has been revised on the XPulse. The engine produces a maximum power of 18.4 hp and a peak torque of 17.1 Nm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox, that pushes out a mileage of around 32 kmpl. The fuel tank has a good capacity of 14 litres, allowing the bike to run for around 450 kilometres on a single full tank.

When we look at the XPulse, we see an off-road style front mudguard, visor, hand guards, and engine sump guard. To provide the bike with a great agility, the suspension duties are handled by forks with 190mm of travel at the front and a 10-step adjustable monoshock at the rear with 170mm of travel. The ground clearance of the bike is a healthy 200mm, allowing the bike to handle the rough terrains.

The bike is expected to be launched in India at a price of under INR 1 lakh. Currently, there are no rivals to the bike and it will dominate its segment for the years to come. Hero MotoCorp recently also unveiled the XPulse 200T at the EICMA 2018 in Milan, Italy. As per the latest details available, the brand will also launch the 200T version along with the standard variant in March 2019. The 200cc XPulse twins are expected to be priced very competitively in India.

Hero xPulse 200T is the production version for the xPulse Concept seen last year at EICMA. This year, the motorcycle is seen with production ready skin, carrying matte finished fuel tank and gloss front under seat panel. Hero xPulse is seen with comfortable long seat that extends slightly forward for comfort packed long distance and adventure riding. The motorcycle comes with a rear luggage carrier and small front headlight with transparent visor. Hero MotoCorp uses telescopic suspension with 190mm of travel at the front and rear monoshock with 170mm of travel. The setup brings 220mm worth clean ground clearance to the xPulse 200T.

The motorcycle comes with 825mm of decent seat height, making this the highest ever seat from Hero’s own production range. The architecture for xPulse 200T is based on the Xtreme 200R, helping them keep the overall cost lower than usual adventure bikes. The front and rear wheel is available with Ceat dual purpose tires for better grip levels. Hero has surprisingly used alloy wheels on the tourer, putting tubeless tires in action for ease during any leaks on the road. The engine used here is the same 200cc motor seen under the Xtreme 200R, producing 18.4 PS and 17.1 Nm on the streetfighter. The tune here is expected to be more torque focused than the peak power.
