New 200cc Honda Motorcycles Reportedly in the Making

New 200cc Honda Motorcycles Reportedly in the Making: According to recent reports, Honda 2-Wheelers India is planning to foray into the entry-level premium motorcycle segment with the introduction of an all-new 200cc platform. The reports further suggest that the brand will be introducing the new motorcycle range in early 2021. The sources suggest that the brand will start with the introduction of an all-new 160cc premium motorcycle which will be followed by the roll-out of a 200cc motorcycle as well as a 300cc premium motorcycle. Since there is no official confirmation received on the same, one can certainly expect the upcoming 200cc premium motorcycle portfolio to feature a street bike, a fully-faired version of the same as well as an off-roader or an adventure motorcycle. The brand has not yet disclosed the timeline of the upcoming 200cc motorcycle range though the rumours suggest the launch to happen sometime early in the year 2021. According to the reports, the brand will be equipping the upcoming 200cc motorcycles with a liquid-cooled engine that will be capable of generating a maximum power output between 20HP-23HP, though the performance ratios may vary according to the underlying platform. Since the brand currently features only Honda CB Hornet 160R in the entry-level premium segment, introducing the 200cc motorcycle range will be beneficial for customers looking for an upgrade to a larger displacement motorcycle though within an affordable price range. Pioneering into the 200cc motorcycle segment will certainly help the brand to focus on its customer base rather than letting them wander to the other competitors like Bajaj, KTM, and TVS in the 200cc segment. Once launched in India, the 200cc Honda motorcycles will compete in the market with the likes of KTM Duke 200, TVS Apache RTR 200 and Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
