India Gears Up for the Arrival of Husqvarna Svartpilen 250

Husqvarna is gearing up to launch the 2024 Svartpilen 250 in India, as indicated by recent homologation documents. This follows the recent launch of the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 250 leaving many wondering about the fate of the Svartpilen 250. Now, it seems that this model is also set to make its debut in the Indian market.

Design

  • The Svartpilen 250 will sport a scrambler-style design similar to its larger sibling, the Svartpilen 401.
  • Key features include a pillion grabrail, an engine bash plate, clip-on handlebars, mid-set footpegs, and a small flyscreen.
  • The bike will be powered by the same 249.07cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine used in the Vitpilen 250 and the KTM 250 Duke, producing 31PS at 9,500rpm and 25Nm at 7,500rpm.

Aims and objectives

  • The suspension setup will mirror that of the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, with a 43mm WP Apex inverted fork at the front and an off-set monoshock at the rear with preload adjustability.
  • The Svartpilen 250 will feature 17-inch alloy wheels with MRF Rev Z-D tyres, differing from the spoked wheels and dual-purpose tyres of the Svartpilen 401.
  • Braking will be managed by a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as standard.
  • The seat height is set at 820mm.

Features

  • The bike will share a similar feature set with the Vitpilen 250, including a 5-inch LCD instrument console, rider aids like traction control, ride-by-wire, a quickshifter, and Supermoto ABS. However, it will not offer Bluetooth connectivity.

Launch and Pricing

  • The Svartpilen 250 is expected to launch in the coming weeks with an anticipated price of Rs 2,19,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), matching the price of the Vitpilen 250.
  • Once launched, it will compete with the likes of the KTM 250 Duke, Bajaj Dominar 250, and Suzuki Gixxer 250.

This addition to Husqvarna's lineup is likely to attract enthusiasts looking for a stylish and capable scrambler in the quarter-liter segment.
