According to a recent report, Classic Legends has sent out media invites to celebrate the first anniversary of Jawa’s resurrection in the Indian market for the 15th of November. Commemorating the occasion, the brand will also be launching a surprise motorcycle at the event, which is expected to be the much-awaited Jawa Perak Bobber. The motorcycle was initially showcased at the re-launch of the brand in November 2018.

The official invite showcases the silhouette of the upcoming motorcycle that features a fuel tank with the signature Jawa branding while the floating saddle confirms the motorcycle to be the Jawa Perak Bobber. The retro-modern stance of the Bobber is something that sets it apart from the other two motorcycles in the Jawa portfolio while at the same time the factory-custom design and the powerful performance shrieks of the superiority.

Coming to the designing traits, the bobber has been equipped with an exclusive tire hugger in addition to getting a unique set of rearview mirrors. The impressive profile of the motorcycle is further enhanced by the use of blackened-out components including the suspension, exhaust as well as the spoked rims.

Powering the Jawa Perak bobber will be the 334cc, single-cylinder engine that is capable of generating a maximum power of 30HP and a peak torque of 31Nm. The engine will be further mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The transmission duties will be handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear will be equipped with a monoshock unit.

The Jawa Perak Bobber will feature disc brakes at either end, which will be further mated to a dual-channel ABS unit as standard. Once launched in the country, the motorcycle is expected to be priced close to INR 2 lakh (ex-showroom).

Jawa Perak is the most happening product from the brand that is awaited by a large number of fans around the country. The premium bobber is powered by a different version of the same engine, featuring a higher displacement value for a better overall output. If you are planning to get something interesting for yourself in 2020, here are five must-know facts about the upcoming Jawa Perak Bobber.

5 Must-Know Facts About Jawa Perak Bobber

1) High Output Engine – The 334cc, single-cylinder engine is good for 30HP of maximum power and 31Nm of peak torque. The rpm values are undisclosed like the regular engine but one can expect Jawa to bring these up after the launch to compare the Perak bobber with other similarly-priced bikes.

2) Dual-Channel ABS – When both the other bikes were available with just single-channel ABS, Perak was the only model to feature a dual-channel unit at the launch event in November last year. Later, Jawa introduced 2-channel ABS in the Classic and Forty-Two models as well and now, all three motorcycles are equipped with a dual-channel ABS unit.

3) Extended Wheelbase – The swingarm of the Perak Bobber is different in comparison to the regular Jawa models and thus, not just virtual but practical change in length is witnessed. The bobber profile has been completed through an exclusive tire hugger and a floating seat on the motorcycle. It even comes with a unique set of rearview mirrors.

4) Blacked-out Components – The spoked rims, suspension parts, engine, and the exhaust system have been painted in black to create an impressive profile for the bobber. Even the paint scheme seen on the Perak is inspired by bigger bikes like the Dark Horse variants of the Indian cruisers.

5) Availability Status & Price – As per the current details available, Jawa is struggling to make timely deliveries of the Classic 300 and the Forty-Two models in the Indian market. Judging from the current scenario, the Perak bobber is expected to launch in the country in early 2020.

A recent statement by the Jawa India management has cleared that they have received a lot more bookings for the Jawa 300 and Forty-Two, leaving Perak postponed for such a long period of time. As far as the price is concerned, the motorcycle is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 2 lakh.

As per the latest details available, the Jawa Perak Bobber is now expected to launch in India in early 2020. Earlier, the motorcycle was expected to launch in September 2019 but, due to the delay in the deliveries of the Classic 300 and Forty-Two, the launch of Perak will now most probably happen in January next year. The brand may start accepting pre-bookings for the same in November/December.

Perak is powered by a 334cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which is good for 30 HP of maximum power and 31 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Jawa Perak features blacked-out spoke rims, suspension parts, engine, and exhaust system to create an impressive profile for the Bobber. The motorcycle will come with 2-channel ABS as standard.

According to the official details available, the online bookings for the Jawa Classic and Forty-Two were closed after December 25 last year, and everyone booking the motorcycles offline at the dealerships have been asked to wait for 7-8 months for deliveries. In addition to this, the customers who have booked the motorcycles last year will be receiving the deliveries by September 2019.

The brand is working hard to commit to their promises and is planning to ramp up the production to meet the demand for the Classic 300 and Jawa 42. The brand believes in understanding the customer’s sentiments and are working hard to reduce the delivery time as much as possible. Jawa recently also commenced the deliveries of the dual-channel ABS models in the Indian market.

As per the latest details available, Jawa Motorcycles has confirmed that Perak bobber will launch in India around the end of 2019. The reason for this delay is unclear at the moment as the sole focus of Jawa is to open maximum possible dealerships. They have achieved 50 dealerships by the present day. The target of opening 105 dealerships will be achieved by the next month.

Jawa Perak
It’s Official: Jawa Perak Bobber Launch Delayed to End 2019

Jawa is delaying all the dates that were mentioned when the first phase of online bookings was open as the brand has received a lot more bookings than they expected from the Indian market. The motorcycle lineup is currently limited to two variants each for the Forty-Two and Jawa 300 models. The buyers looking for dual channel ABS will need to wait for almost the next six months to get their bike delivered.

Jawa Perak Bobber
Jawa Perak Bobber was Unveiled in November 2018

Jawa made a huge inventory management mistake as they could have made a decent number of bikes before opening the bookings in India. As none of the bikes has been seen on the road yet, buyers are restricting themselves to Royal Enfield for reliable service at all times. Also, the brand earlier promised deliveries from January 2019 but was unable to meet its dealership target.

Now, the deliveries for the single channel ABS models are expected to start by the end of next month. The brand has two blockbuster products on their side and delayed Jawa Perak bookings/launch can ruin their overall image among the retro motorcycle lovers of India.

Jawa Motorcycles recently inaugurated their 11th Indian dealership in Nashik. The first target of 100 dealerships is expected to be finished by March 2019. Apart from the Jawa Nashik dealership, they have two dealers in Pune, three in Bengaluru and five in Delhi NCR region. The first set of dealerships were opened within one week and almost four weeks later, the process seems re-ignited. Jawa first launched the dual disc variants for both the bikes on December 21, 2018. One day later, five dealerships in Delhi were inaugurated. The range of Jawa products rival Royal Enfield motorcycles and launch of rear disc model with dual channel ABS gave them an upper edge.

On the other hand, the single disc model of Jawa 300 is priced at INR 1.64 lakh and rear disc with dual channel ABS costs INR 1.73 lakh. The engine is based on the architecture of Mojo’s 293cc unit. However, features like USD forks and Pirelli tyres were missed. Jawa is using the dual exhaust design for a balanced look and better than ever exhaust note.

As per the latest details available, Jawa motorcycles will feature dual-channel ABS and rear disc brake by June 2019. The addition of these two features will result in a price increase of approx INR 10,000 for both the bikes. The rear disc brake costs INR 2,000-4,000 for installation while upgrading the ABS system may bring an additional hike of INR 2,000-5,000. The value mentioned here is what different brands generally charge for the 2 features. Jawa may not think of going over the value and will try its best to keep the prices competitive.

Jawa 42 is available in six shades and comes with a price tag of INR 1.55 lakh while Jawa 300 comes in three shades and costs INR 1.64 lakh. The availability of Jawa 300 in Black, Grey and Maroon finish is quite nostalgic for Indian fans while Jawa 42 in additional six shades is a clear bonus. Jawa Perak, the factory custom bobber model that will arrive later, comes with dual channel ABS and rear disc brake as standard. It will cost INR 1.89 lakh in 2019.
