The most anticipated BS6 2020 KTM 390 Duke has been recently projected in its full glory in a walkaround video by the famous Youtube channel, Dino’s Vault. According to the reviewer, the updated motorcycle has been finely tuned while offering a comfortable ride. The addition of a BS6-compliant engine further ensures fewer emissions while the two new colour schemes are worthy to gather major attention on the road.

According to Dino’s Vault, the BS6 2020 KTM 390 Duke is a super slick streetfighter motorcycle that features a KTM 1290 Super Duke R-inspired design language. The motorcycle will be available to the customers in grey/black and white/black colour schemes, both having a unique persona.

The grey/black colour-coded KTM would be one of the most preferred colour variants with the KTM enthusiasts considering its overall look. The combination of the matte grey fuel tank with blacked-out body panels and the authentic KTM motorcycle’s orange detailing, the motorcycle looks no less than a beast. Similarly, the white/black colour scheme also looks appealing with several orange accents accentuating its profile.

In addition to this, the SuperMoto ABS offered to the BS6 2020 KTM 390 Duke allows the rider to switch off the rear ABS any time further enjoying the thrill of skidding and drifting.

According to Dino’s Vault, there has been no alteration in the power and torque values of the updated motorcycle. It continues to be powered by a 373.2cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine which is now BS6-compliant and offers a maximum power of 43.5HP and a peak torque of 37Nm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. The 2020 KTM 390 Duke is expected to be officially launched sometime in the coming days.

In addition to this, the on-road price tag of the updated motorcycle has also surfaced online.

Apart from the updated KTM Duke 390 with a BS6 engine, the brand will also be launching the BS6 KTM RC 390 in the coming days. Some reports also suggest that the Austrian brand has imparted all the updated 390cc range of motorcycle with a Quickshifter+ as standard.

For the ones not knowing the functionalities of a quickshifter+, it allows the rider to change the gears seamlessly and without much effort. The Quickshifter+ used on the KTM motorcycles is a bi-directional unit that performs the upshifts as well as downshifts seamlessly. It ultimately increases the safety and the comfort of the rider by eliminating the need to use the clutch.

Apart from this, the updated motorcycle has been been awarded new dual-tone colour schemes in addition to new graphics. Powering the 2020 KTM Duke 390 will be a BS6-compliant 373.2cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine.

Though the power and torque values of the updated motorcycle have not yet been revealed as of yet, one can certainly expect the performance figures to be tweaked a bit with the addition of a BS6-compliant engine.

According to a recent report by Autocar India, Bajaj Auto is all set to launch the BS6 2020 KTM Duke 390 with a quickshifter as standard that will be similar to one offered on the recently launched 390 Adventure. The BS6 model of the Duke 390 is expected to be launched in parallel to the BS6-compliant KTM RC 390.

The reports also suggest that the BS6-compliant KTM Duke 390 will differ from the BS6 model of the RC 390 through more features offered by the brand. One can further expect the motorcycle to get a premium of around INR 10,000 over its BS4-compliant variant with the addition of the quickshifter as well as the BS6 engine. At present, the BS4 KTM Duke 390 is available in the market at a price tag of INR 2.48 lakhs (ex-showroom).

BS6 2020 KTM Duke 390
BS6 2020 KTM Duke 390 to Get Quickshifter as Standard

On the other hand, the brand is very unlikely to offer the BS6 KTM RC 390 with a quickshifter as standard which will ultimately allow KTM to price it lower than its streetfighter sibling.

Since the increase in price tag for the BS6-compliant Duke 390 will make it stand close to the recently launched KTM 390 Adventure that is priced at INR 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the brand will be justifying the high price tag of the adventure motorcycle to the customers by explaining them the adventure-specific features that includes the traction control system and the switchable 2-channel ABS unit.

Powering the BS4 KTM Duke 390 is a 373.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 43.5 HP @ 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 37 Nm @ 7000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The 2021 KTM Duke 390 has been recently spotted testing outside India. The test mule of the motorcycle has been stripped down while it features a host of mechanical changes. One can expect the updated variant of the motorcycle to officially debut at the EICMA in November 2020 though the Indian market is likely to get the motorcycle sometime in 2021.

KTM is on a launching spree from the past few months with the introduction of certain new motorcycle variants as well as offering BS6 updates to its existing portfolio. Coming to the 2021 KTM Duke 390, the brand is likely to revise the front USD forks of the motorcycle to improve the riding abilities while the leaked image promises a revised swingarm with new rear suspension setup.

In addition to this, one can also lookout for a new exhaust system that will be differently tuned when compared to the current-gen model. Since the model is entirely stripped down, one cannot comprehend if any cosmetic changes have been made to the upcoming motorcycle.

Though the overall design language of the motorcycle is expected to be retained by the brand, one can surely expect new style revisions to stand it apart from the present-gen KTM Duke 390 variant.

In addition to this, the brand is presently expected to launch the BS6-compliant variant of the current-gen KTM Duke 390 in the coming weeks. At present, powering the motorcycle is a BS4-compliant 373.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 43.5HP @ 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 37Nm @ 7000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The disc brakes set up at either side is mated to a dual-channel ABS as standard. The brand is further expected to offer traction control system as well as other riding aids to the updated 2021 KTM Duke 390, which are expected to be similar to the ones offered on the KTM 390 Adventure that is expected to be officially launched in the Indian market soon.
