It has been more than one and a half year since the rumours for Hyundai’s sub-4-meter SUV began and now, Hyundai has officially confirmed the name Venue for the car. This SUV is supposed to be based on the 2016 Carlino concept, and the confirmation on the launch of the compact SUV in May 2019 has finally arrived. The can will be officially unveiled on April 17 and will be placed below the Creta in Hyundai’s lineup of cars. The Hyundai Venue SUV will get its power from Hyundai’s 1.0-liter 3-cylinder T-GDi petrol engine with a direct injection of fuel in the international markets.

This engine has been previously seen on the UK-spec i20 and is available in two states of tune. The power delivered by this engine ranges between 100 PS and 120 PS, and the peak torque delivered by the engine stands at 172 Nm. The engine developing 100 PS power is mated to a 5-speed manual, while the one with 120 PS power delivery is mated to a 6-speed manual. The company may offer a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission on the Venue as well. The official launch of the new Hyundai Venue will take place in mid-May 2019 in India.

If Hyundai decides to go with the engine delivering 120 PS of power in India, the compact SUV will become a direct rival to the Ford EcoSport with the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. For the Indian markets, the company could also sway towards the 1.2-liter petrol engine that powers the current generation of the Elite i20, which will bring the starting price of the Hyundai Venue further down. Diesel motors could also be an option for the car, with the power delivery of 90 PS and a peak torque of 220 Nm developed through a 1.4-liter engine, also seen on the Elite i20.

The feature list is expected to be long as it is on the other vehicles offered by Hyundai. A touchscreen infotainment system with the latest connectivity options is expected along with projector headlamps with daytime running lamps, climate control, and steering-mounted controls. The price of the Hyundai Venue is expected to be between INR 8 lakh and INR 11 lakh and the competition will be provided to the other sub-4 meter compact SUVs like the Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the Mahindra XUV300.

OnePlus 6T will get an official launch event on October 30, 2018, at Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex in New Delhi. The phone is seen with a water drop notch, being its only visible difference for an average user on the front side. The base variant will carry 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device continues to use the powerful Snapdragon 845 chipset with Adreno 630 GPU, currently tagged as the most effective processor among all flagship phones of the world. The brand has asked OnePlus 6T fans to keep on eye on the event invitation vouchers that goes live on October 17, 2018.

The phone is available with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB internal storage options, keeping the RAM options limited to 6GB and 8GB. Oxygen OS on OnePlus 6T will be based on Android 9.0 Pie, helping users experience the most iconic Android version available in the market yet. Another new feature is experienced with the availability of under-screen fingerprint sensor, practically invisible, but, equally effective as the one seen in all Android phones with dedicated spaces. OnePlus 6T will use a layer of Gorilla Glass 6 for additional screen protection. It is not yet known if they will offer a slight reduction in price for OnePlus 6 or follow a new program by raising the price for the new model by a considerable margin. The official rivals to OnePlus 6T include Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Apple iPhone XS Max, both being flagship products of their respective brands. The price difference between them is unbelievable.

150cc Aprilia Motorcycles will soon be a reality. A source has revealed that Aprilia plans to launch both RS150 and Tuono 150 in January 2019, starting with bookings in December 2018 itself. The launch will take the total number of locally manufactured Aprilia products to four, out of which three will fall in the 150cc and one in the 125cc category.

The launch frame also leaves just 10 weeks for the prospective buyers to decide which model do they need and whether considering Yamaha R15 is better or not. Aprilia comes with the exclusivity tag and thus, getting a price tag of around INR 1.45 lakh for RS150 won’t be a wrong guess at all.

Aprilia RS 150
150cc Aprilia RS & Tuono Bookings to Open in December

The bigger number will not be exclusive to just Aprilia bikes as the government deadline for mandatory ABS is coming closer. Even the Yamaha R15 will gain a considerable amount in ex-showroom pricing, most probably being INR 10,000-12,000. Presently, TVS Apache RTR 180 is the most feasible bike with dual channel ABS while most of the range from Bajaj, Honda CB Hornet, and Hero Xtreme 200R comes with single channel unit. 150cc Aprilia bikes will use dual channel ABS for the premium side, also leaving SR150 with no other option than sharing the safety feature.

Aprilia Tuono 150

The 150cc, single-cylinder engine on both these bikes is good for 18HP at 10,000 rpm and 14 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The front braking is handled by 300mm single disc while rear uses a rather conservative 218mm disc size. The 40mm USD forks are expected to stay on the production specific model. Aprilia RS150 is a full faired racer with clip-on bars, dedicated seating and foot-peg position while Tuono 150 comes with standard handlebar and relaxed overall riding nature.

Hero Xtreme 200R is now available across India for INR 89,900. Earlier, it exclusively went on sale in West Bengal and North Eastern states of India for an unknown reason. The INR 88,000 price tag for the ABS-equipped single variant may not remain the actual price after their silent launch event. The official price list for all states is yet to arrive. The deliveries of Xtreme 200R have also started in North Eastern states, while the bookings for the affordable 200cc bike are now open.

The move leaves fans with tough decision making between Xtreme and other popular options like TVS Apache RTR 200 and Bajaj Pulsar NS200. The street bike segment has seen a lot of growth through these two products but, the placement of Xtreme 200R raised a lot of questions in the mind of an average Indian buyer. If Hero could launch the same with single-channel ABS for such an exciting price, why both the other brands are charging INR 20,000 and INR 22,000 more for a similar spec variant. Highly tuned engines are one reason but still, the gap cannot be justified for any reason, especially in the case of Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS, which is priced @ INR 1.12 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Hero Xtreme 200R is more like a commuter-friendly street bike with 199.6cc, air-cooled engine, producing 18.1 bhp at 8000 rpm and 17.1 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The reviews for Xtreme 200R’s engine quality claims a mature riding character.

The beefed up front end comes with 100mm tire and extended tank shrouds. Xtreme 200R comes with a comfortable single seat with 795mm of rider seat height and perfect width for city rides. It measures 2062mm, 778mm and 1072mm in length, width and height respectively. The front disc brake measures 276mm, further equipped with ABS for worry-free wet surface braking ability. The rear end is offered with a 130mm tire and 220mm disc brake. The lightweight body of Xtreme 200R, weighing just 148 kg with full fuel tank, makes it quicker and mileage friendly.

The whole nation knows that the Tata Harrier SUV will use a 2.0-litre diesel engine manufactured by Fiat. The sale of the SUV is scheduled for January 2019. It has come as a shocking news is that Tata Motors will go with a six-speed automatic transmission manufactured by Hyundai rather than using a nine-speed automatic gearbox by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, as was expected for the diesel variant of the Harrier.

Tata Harrier
Tata Harrier to use Fiat’s 2.0L Diesel Engine & Hyundai’s 6AT Gearbox

According to several reports, the nine-speed automatic transmission from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles was proving to be quite an expensive addition to the Harrier project. It has been common knowledge that the Harrier project was developed to meet strict cost targets. The nine-speed automatic gearbox will now make its debut in the Indian markets on the Jeep Compass Trailhawk, to be launched at the end of 2018. Tata Motors has found a better and cheaper match to the 2.0-litre engine when they decided to use Hyundai’s six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

A source from within Tata Motors said, “The Hyundai transmission is well suited to the power and torque characteristics of the 2.0-litre Fiat diesel and is significantly cheaper than the FCA transmission, so it made more sense for us to use it.”

The six-speed automatic transmission is already in use on the Tucson and a number of other vehicles in Hyundai’s lineup of cars. The same transmission will be available on Tata’s 5-seater 140 hp Harrier as well as an unnamed 7-seater 170 hp SUV that will be available for sale on a later date. Both these SUVs will feature Tata’s all-wheel-drive system as an option.

Tata’s decision to offer an automatic gearbox on the Harrier is in line with the rise in the demand of the automatic SUVs in India. This was seen when the demand for the automatic model of the Hexa exceeded the projections that Tata Motors made in their internal board meetings.

Still, pricing for both products will vary significantly.

Update: BMW G310R India Launch on 18th July

The booking amount for G310R and G310GS is INR 50,000. The delay in launch was a result of a high number of formal steps that were to be followed by BMW for Indian sales network establishment. BMW G310R will cater the needs of everyday riders while G310GS will fulfill the dreams of adventure tourers.

Both bikes will offer dual-channel ABS as standard. One can expect a higher price tag than RR310 for G310R (INR 2.50 lakh approx) while G310GS could arrive for around INR 3 lakh (expected ex-showroom price).

Apple iPhone X, the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone.

Apple has launched the much awaited iPhone 8 along with iPhone 8 plus and the 10th anniversary special iPhone X (pronounced as iPhone 10) yesterday at the biggest event of the year. And that wasn’t all, there was also an updated Apple Watch, an even better looking Apple TV, and software updates for most of Apple’s products. Here’s everything you need to know about the Apple’s flagship model iPhone X:

Apple iPhone X Price in India

It will go on-sale from November 3

Apple iPhone X is priced at INR 89,000 for the variant with 64GB storage, and the 256GB model’s price is INR 1,02,000. This makes the higher-end iPhone X the most expensive mainstream smartphone in the country. The Apple iPhone X comes in Silver and Space Gray colors. The prospective buyers in India will have to wait till November 3 for the iPhone X; pre-orders in the country will start on October 27.

Apple iPhone X starts at INR 89,000 in India for the 64GB variant.

iPhone X has a 5.8-inch (2436 x 1125) OLED Super Retina edge-to-edge display with 458ppi, highest pixel density in an iPhone. The display supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision, Million-to-one contrast ratio and also has 3D touch.

Apple is doing away with the Touch ID, the fingerprint scanner embedded with Home Button that it introduced with iPhone 5s model. The iPhone X hosts a range of sensors including flood illumination, infrared camera, front camera, and dot projector to allow customers to unlock the iPhone X by just looking at it – a system called Face ID.

Yamaha discontinued the YZF-R3 in India as Indian government imposed a ban on the sale of BS3 vehicles in India from April 1. Yamaha also removed the R3 from their official website in India. It was being imported as a knocked-down kit from Indonesia and was not BS4 ready. This was quite disappointing as even Benelli has entered the segment with 302R on sale in the country.

As per the latest details available, Yamaha is working on BS4 variant of R3 in Indonesia and its updated model will be launched in India by December 2017. The new edition is expected to carry new shades and graphic enhancements while the engine would stay the same 321 cc, 2-cylinder unit. Though the chances are too thin, Yamaha might also introduce ABS as an option in India.

2017 YZF-R3 comes with amazing shades (Matt Grey, Matt Black) in selective markets and the return of Racing Blue is a sure shot fact for India. Yamaha offers the same on all sport series motorcycles. The White shade with Yellow graphics even look exciting from every angle. Engine of Yamaha R3 comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox while addition of slipper clutch is the next big possibility. The additions and changes in the motorcycle will definitely result in higher price tag.

Apart from Yamaha R3, company even removed the long selling FZ16 from the official website. Its discontinuation has been confirmed as the old 153 cc engine was not converted to BS4 compliant version. The Yamaha FZ family is now fully fuel injected while SZ-RR uses the same engine with carburetor setup. They have updated the shade for every existing product except the most loved Yamaha motorcycle, the R15.

The wait is over! Benelli Tornado 302R will launch in India on July 25. Benelli officially started accepting the bookings a few days ago with a token amount of INR 25,000. Benelli will also equip the Tornado 302R with 2-channel ABS, making it the first sport bike from 2-cylinder category to bring the safety feature in India.

This is the perfect time for Benelli to launch the 302R in India as Yamaha R3 is temporarily not available in India and Kawasaki Ninja 300 is not available with ABS. So if someone is looking for a 300cc 2-cylinder sport bike with ABS, the only option in India would be the Tornado 302R!

Benelli 302R is powered by a re-tuned version of twin cylinder, 300cc engine that produces 35.5 BHP at 10000 rpm and 27.4 Nm at 9000 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox, claiming a top speed of 170 kmph in everyday riding conditions. Benelli 302R comes with a seat height of 780 mm, providing it with the most easily accessible seats in its segment.

The motorcycle may claim a price tag of around INR 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be equipped with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). The part sharing equation with the TNT 300 makes it easier for Benelli to revise the pricing of both the models by increasing the localization amount for the motorcycle. Benelli bikes are known for their excellent exhaust notes and Tornado 302R would be the first fully faired racer after the mighty Tornado 1130.
