300cc Benelli motorcycles are now affordable by a huge margin in comparison to their older prices in India. The most affordable motorcycle from the brand is TNT 300, getting a massive INR 51,000 price cut to flaunt the attractive INR 2.99 lakh ex-showroom price tag for the country.

On the other hand, those who are in need of a full-faired racer can consider the Benelli 302R for INR 3.10 lakh, counting the same as a result of direct price drop worth INR 60,000. Benelli explains that the drop in manufacturing costs helped them reduce the pricing with such a huge amount.

Benelli TNT 300
Benelli TNT 300 Price Dropped by INR 51,000

The move is surprising to many as a number of brands have claimed an increased cost of production twice in 2019. The first price hike for most of the brands came in January while the second was witnessed around April this year.

Benelli relies on TNT 300 and 302R for volume generation as other bikes from their side are priced much higher than these two options. The unique part for 300cc Benelli motorcycles is the use of dual front disc brakes, offered mostly in bikes with higher capacity and price segment. The Benelli product range in India now starts from TNT 300 while the most expensive option that one can consider is the TNT 600i for sure.

We have witnessed a significant reduction in the manufacturing cost of the TNT 300 and 302R models and this has helped us to pass on the benefit to the biking enthusiasts in India.”

Okinawa Gets FAME-II Approval in India: Okinawa has become the first brand to follow the guidelines for the Indian manufacturers by the government to reap the benefits from the FAME-II scheme. The subsidy available on both the Ridge+ and i-Praise makes them quite feasible in comparison to their earlier price tags. The product applying under the FAME 2 scheme must have more than 50% local components, Li-ion batteries, a top speed of at least 40 kmph and above all, the capability to ride for more than 80 kilometres on a single charge.

Okinawa i-Praise
i-Praise

The clause of having regenerative braking makes it even tougher for brands to update all their products to the new specs. For Okinawa, the scooters were already available with all the advanced features and for them, the numbers are way higher than the minimum value. The i-Praise was launched in India earlier this year with a price tag of INR 1.15 lakh, while the Ridge+ was launched for around INR 80,000. The i-Praise is available with a DC motor with 2500 watt peak power and 2.9 KWh battery pack. This results in a total range of 160-180 kilometres while the top speed achieved from the same is 75 kph.

Okinawa Ridge+
Ridge+

The battery can be fully charged in just 2-3 hours. The scooter comes with LED lights, front and rear disc brake, smartphone connectivity, alloy wheels, tubeless tyres and adjustable levers. On the other hand, the Ridge+ comes with a 1200 watt motor with 1.75 KWh battery pack. The subsidy value on the Ridge+ is INR 17,000 while benefits on i-Praise sums up to INR 26,000.

Mr Jeetender Sharma, Founder & Managing Director, Okinawa Autotech Pvt. Ltd., said: “With eligibility under Fame-II, our customers will be able to enjoy standard subsidy depending upon the model battery kwh. For Okinawa Ridge+ & i-Praise the subsidy would be between Rs 17000 – Rs 26000 based on KWH. We are confident that this will motivate more environmentally conscious customers to become a part of the Okinawa family to enjoy not only the benefits of e-scooters but also the advanced features offered in the Okinawa range.”

SWM Superdual T is now available with a discount of INR 80,000 for the first 250 buyers. The offer is applicable till March 31, 2019. The bike’s top model was officially launched in India last year in October with a price tag of INR 7.30 lakh. After the price cut, the adventure motorcycle is now available for INR 6.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand retails through Kinetic Motoroyale channel and rival none other than Kawasaki Versys 650 and Suzuki V-Strom 650XT in the country. The pricing and list of available equipment make the new SWM Superdual T a better deal than both the rivals. The lack of touch-points by Kinetic may not let the brand flourish at a rate similar to the other two well-established options.

Superdual T was first showcased in India at an adventure motorcycle event in Pune. The 600cc, single cylinder engine comes with dual overhead camshafts and liquid cooling, producing 54.3 hp of maximum power and 55 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Apart from the powerful and unique engine, Superdual T is available with USD front forks supporting 210mm of overall travel. If this feels just normal, you can consider astonishing yourself with the rear adjustable monoshock that supports 270mm of travel. The front wheel measures 19-inch while the rear on use is 17-inch, both sides featuring spoke wheels for maximum action.

ABS is available as standard on the motorcycle. SWM uses a large 19-litre fuel tank to claim impressive riding range for their first ever product in India. The best part for Superdual T is the low 169 kg dry weight while worst is the seat height of 898mm, making it practically difficult for an average Indian rider to handle the same in heavy traffic. The 4-inch of ride height increase than an average bike is really beneficial when considered from the off-road point of view. The brand will also offer long list of accessories that enhance the no-tarmac experience.
