TVS and BMW Motorrad Begin BMW CE 02 Electric Scooter Production in India

TVS and BMW Motorrad have marked a significant milestone in their partnership by commencing the production of the BMW CE 02 electric scooter at TVS' Hosur manufacturing plant in India. This comes as part of their collaboration to develop new electric vehicles, platforms, and technologies, which was expanded in December 2021. BMW Motorrad and TVS, the homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer, are celebrating a significant milestone with the rollout of the 1,50,000th unit of the 310cc series of motorcycles. This collaborative effort between the two companies has yielded a total of five motorcycles, which includes the BMW G 310 R, BMW G 310 GS, and BMW G 310 RR under BMW Motorrad, as well as the TVS Apache RR 310 and the recently launched TVS Apache RTR 310 under TVS.

Funky and Stylish Design

The BMW CE 02 is a unique and stylish electric scooter designed for international markets. It features large wheels and is built on a double-loop steel tubular frame. It comes equipped with USD forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear, providing a comfortable and stable ride. The scooter is fitted with a 296mm front disc brake with a single-piston calliper and single-channel ABS, ensuring reliable braking performance.

Dual and Single Battery Variants

The BMW CE 02 is available in two variants: dual battery and single battery. The dual battery version is powered by two split 2kWh lithium-ion battery packs and boasts 15hp of power, a claimed range of 90km, and a top speed of 95 kph. On the other hand, the single-battery variant offers a top speed of 45 kph and a range of 45 km. Both variants can be charged using either a 0.9kW standard charger or an optional 1.5kW fast charger.

Modern Features

The electric scooter comes loaded with modern features, including LED lights, keyless start, a 3.5-inch TFT dash, Bluetooth connectivity, reverse mode for easy maneuvering, and various ride modes, providing riders with a convenient and tech-savvy experience.
