1155 units of Yamaha R3 are to be recalled in India as the company suspects fault in its fuel tank brackets and main switch assembly. The effected bikes were manufactured in 2015 and 2016 while this is the second issue with the motorcycle in India. Yamaha R3 was earlier recalled due to oil pump and clutch pressure plate assembly issues. According to Yamaha, the faulty fuel tank brackets might led to a crack in the fuel tank due to the vibrations on the motorcycle. This can result in fuel leakage and further problems with the motorcycle. Secondly, the faulty switch can result in problems regarding ignition as they can get corroded due to water.
