According to recent reports, the Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 350 has been discontinued in the Indian market after a year of its initial launch. The motorcycle has been removed from the brand’s official website while it is also not available at the dealerships across the country.

Though the brand has not yet officially commented on the discontinuation of the Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 350, one can easily recognise the reason behind it to be the low sales.

The Chennai-based manufacturer has been witnessing negligible sales for the Trials 350 considering that the customers are not a fan of its loud paint scheme, scrambler styling as well as the single-seat setup that sets it apart from the standard RE Bullet 350, which has a cult following in the Indian market.

Apart from this, the motorcycle has not been updated to the BS6 emission norms which will be mandatory in the country in a few days. The brand has recently updated the standard RE Bullet 350 with a BS6-compliant engine which was not offered to the Bullet Trials 350 thus lowering its sales further.

Since the brand has already discontinued its 500cc range under its portfolio, the Bullet Trials 500 has also been discontinued considering the low sales number.

As per the latest buzz, Royal Enfield has officially cleared out its BS4 stock in the Indian market while its BS6 products have officially started seeing the light of the day since the past few months. The BS6 RE Classic and Bullet have been officially launched in the Indian markets, though the BS6 Thunderbird 350 and 350X will follow soon. In addition to this, the brand is also expected to offer its new range of products in the coming months in India, patents for which have already been filed.

Royal Enfield Bullet Trials was launched in India back in March 2019 in two variants namely: Bullet Trials 350 and Bullet Trials 500. Both the scrambler motorcycles were launched as the modern versions of the Royal Enfield Bullet specifically to target more sales in the country. The recent reports suggest that the brand has failed to achieve its target to register a decent sales number for the Bullet Trials.

2019 Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 350

According to the dealerships, the customers are not interested in buying the Bullet Trials considering their single-seat setup in addition to the flashy paint schemes. The enthusiasts remain true to liking the standard Bullet 350 and 500 variants, which are far more premium in terms of looks that shrieks of Royal Enfield’s decade-old heritage. The brand has also equipped the Trials with an upswept exhaust as well as sporty tyres though, the customers didn’t seem to appreciate the unique styling of the Bullet Trials.

Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 350 vs Royal Enfield Himalayan (Quick Comparison): Himalayan may be a feasible option for many riders but the typical adventure motorcycle look makes it tough to handle in the tight city conditions. The huge motorcycle has got an indirect rival and that too from none other than the Bullet series in the country. The new Bullet Trials 350 is the most affordable adventure motorcycle with INR 1.62 lakh price tag and dual-purpose tyres.

The new motorcycle is based on the same frame as all 350cc bikes, using advanced features like the 2-channel ABS and electric starter in comparison to the regular Bullet. The pricing is almost similar to all the 350cc models that use ABS in the country. Earlier, the Thunderbird was considered expensive but now, the part sharing has made all bikes almost similar in terms of ex-showroom price. Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 500 has been launched in India for INR 2.07 Lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi). It is a slightly different version of the regular Bullet 500. Royal Enfield is promoting the Trials variant for those who need Scrambler-style riding and confidence in owning a Bullet motorcycle at the same time. The changes are limited to the component list only as engine and output values are the same as the regular 499cc engine in the company lineup.

Bullet Trials 500 is available with a highlighted frame, painted with precision to keep the legacy of the nameplate alive for the upcoming buyers. The factor that attracts every eye is the use of a raised exhaust system that facilitates the rear wheel travel by not scrapping the body against any surface. The rear springs are left chrome as all other Bullet variants while the front and rear fenders feel inspired from the Bullet ES variant with typical chrome finish.

The headlight is seen with a cover while rear seat goes missing in favour of this functional rack that can hold a full sized bag with the help of a tying rope. Still, those who favour long distance travels instead of the Scrambler riding position and dual-purpose tires can prefer going for the Thunderbird series.

The 499cc, single cylinder engine on the motorcycle is good for 27.2 HP and 41.3 Nm. The output is effective for riding within the decent rpm range. The Trials nameplate has been operational from 2009 in the international markets, sold as a separate kit for those who wish to take their Bullet motorcycles into the off-road action. The India-spec Bullet Trials 500 is seen with a different fuel tank highlights in comparison to the regular version, bringing a Classic 500-inspired side profile for the motorcycle. The gearbox stays 5-speed on the entire 499cc Royal Enfield lineup.

Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 350 has been launched in India with a price tag of INR 1.62 Lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi). Reworking the Bullet to give the adventure enthusiasts an authentic Scrambler style riding, the brand has been targeting the solo riders by offering a single seat though, it does feature a luggage rack as standard.

Powering the Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 350 is a 346cc, single cylinder air-cooled engine, capable of churning out a power of 19.8 Bhp @ 5250 rpm and an utmost torque of 28 Nm @ 4000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed mesh gearbox while gets an authentic Trials nameplate. The Trials has been available in the International market (as an optional kit for Bullet) since 2009 though, for the Indian enthusiasts it’s a first. Suspension duties are handled by soft rubber telescopic forks at the front while it gets a dual spring suspension at the rear.

The raised exhaust system gives the motorcycle a bolder look as well as manages the water-wading capabilities. The Royal Enfield Bullet Trial 350 gets a single seat that offers the rider a rather confident ride. The functional rack at the back can handle a full-sized bag, perfect for touring long distances. The relaxed handlebar position offers easy riding while the motorcycle features the same round headlight unit with chrome nacelle.

The all-new motorcycle features 19 inches spoke wheels at the front while the rear is good for 18 inches. The standard Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is available in Black colour only which makes the new series quite happening for the enthusiasts looking for the same experience but a rather vibrant styling. For the adventure lovers, the Bullet Trials 350 is one of the finest options considering the price tag and the lack of competitors in its segment.

As per the latest details available, Royal Enfield Bullet Trials will launch in India on March 26-27, 2019. The most-awaited Bullet variant for those who are looking into the adventure segment, Trials will be available with a raised exhaust, single seat and a rear carrier that is beneficial for those who carry a single bag with them. This way, they can save on the additional cost that goes into the panniers and welcome rough roads with more confidence with the dual purpose tires and additional ground clearance. The biggest highlight of the Royal Enfield Trials is the use of a coloured frame and rubber covers for the front suspension. The first official teaser is out from the brand.

The few leaked images of the motorcycles show that the brand has used the same frame shade as Desert Storm on the 500cc model while the 350cc variant features a different red frame that has not been seen on any model till date. The use of chrome and other important accessories also clears that Royal Enfield is bringing the fight to the recently introduced Jawa 42 for sure. The 346cc and 499cc engine stay the same as the stock version, producing 28 Nm and 41.3 Nm from the motorcycles. The front and rear disc brake will be available with 2-channel ABS as standard like all other options.

A few days back, a Royal Enfield motorcycle was spotted testing with a red number plate in Tamil Nadu. It was rumoured to be known as Classic Scrambler 500. But as per the latest report by GaadiWaadi, the new motorcycle will be sold as Bullet Trials and the official launch will happen in March 2019. The good news is that the Trials series will also be available with a 350cc engine. The motorcycles will be sold as Trials 350 and Trials 500. Both the models will come with 2-channel ABS as standard.

The handlebar position on the Bullet Trials seems highly rider-friendly with wide grips and a raised bar. The tyres at both ends are dual purpose units with a decent amount of width. The rear section is seen with a raised exhaust, more or less similar to the stock unit in design but placed much higher for safe all-terrain riding.

The rear luggage holder may support the pillion seat hooks for easy seat mounting. Riders using Bullet have already climbed record heights with a stock ground clearance of 135mm and imagining the Bullet Trials going further heights won’t be wrong at all. The Bullet Trials 350 is expected to get a price tag of around INR 1.70 lakh and the Trials 500 is expected to be priced around INR 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom).
