Royal Enfield 650 Twins will soon have an exclusive area within the dealership, helping the brand differentiate their premium products from the options like Bullet, Classic, and Thunderbird. The section will also feature exclusive merchandise and accessories for these two RE bikes.

One such example is seen with a wooden floor and surfboard decals, offering a glimpse of what the setup will actually look like in the coming weeks. Both the Interceptor and Continental GT 650 are powered by a 648cc engine, producing 52 Nm of impressive torque. The most powerful engine from the current lineup, this twin cylinder motor rivals other middleweight machines of the country.

Royal Enfield is also planning studio outlets for the rural areas and limited space in them may result in an absence of any of these two bikes. The motorcycles will still be open for bookings and delivered on demand. The starting price for both the bikes will soon go up by INR 20,000. However, the current lot can be had for INR 2.50 lakh (Interceptor) and INR 2.65 lakh (CGT).

The bikes are available with a lot of accessories, including some very important additions like a windshield and rear seat cowl. The top-spec Classic Chrome and base variant of RE Interceptor are well-separated by a price gap but still, placing them within a special area could help buyers understand the lineup better.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 with USD forks from KTM 390 Duke is the most recent addition to the modified RE bikes of India. The retro-modern machine already looks impressive but, adding the forks helped Abhinav Bhatt claim an impressive stance for his prized possession.

As with regular updates where technology gets compromised, this one is a different example. The 41mm forks were replaced not just with these USD forks but, the brake calliper was also replaced with the radial mounted unit. Here, the ABS setting was retained to keep safety as the utmost priority for the model. The handlebar was also replaced to achieve this bold stance.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

The owner is yet to decide what paint finish should he prefer for the motorcycle while the brake and clutch levers have also been replaced with the aftermarket units. The exhaust setup seems incomplete at the moment but once ready, the motorcycle will be completely different from the Interceptor 650 everybody knows in the country.

The 648cc, twin cylinder engine on the bike is good for 47 HP and 52 Nm. The output may not change here as engine tuning is not a part of the modification plan. However, using performance parts may improve the overall running dynamics of the motorcycle.

Royal Enfield is planning to hike the prices of Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 by around INR 20,000 in the coming days. This will take the starting price up to INR 2.70 lakh for the former and INR 2.85 lakh for the latter. However, a slight fall in the sales number can be expected with this move as most of the buyers in India are price-sensitive when it comes to big displacement motorcycles.

Also, the overall sales figure posted by Royal Enfield is not that healthy to support this price hike. The current price tag of INR 2.50 lakh makes Interceptor 650 the most happening bike of the Indian market, rivalling products that are almost double in price when compared through engine similarity.

Royal Enfield 650 Twins are eligible for a free rear suspension upgrade if the owners are facing any sort of problem with the setup. The upgraded suspension gets a new buffer made out of rubber, with no official recall in action for the units sold by the brand till date.

The motorcycle has crossed a respectable monthly sales figure already, with more fans entering the middleweight engine segment due to the effective starting price tag of INR 2.50 lakh. The RE Interceptor 650 has also won the ‘Indian Motorcycle of the Year 2019’ award with its exceptional built quality and value-for-money placement.

Continental GT 650 is the perfect option for buyers who need a more stylish avatar than the Interceptor. The motorcycle is good for 52 Nm of maximum torque, resulting in the most fun-filled ride offered by any Royal Enfield motorcycle of the current generation. The price difference of just INR 15,000 between both the products means choosing one of them is purely a visually-satisfying decision.

The models are available with optional accessories that further improve their presence among the indirect rivals. Royal Enfield 650 Twins are available with a 3-year conditional warranty and their paint options are the most vivid examples of all time.

The frame of the 650 Twins was developed by Royal Enfield in association with Harris Performance and therefore, the focus on affordability and performance was never lowered. The engine offers a combination of everyday riding ease and highway riding pleasure while slipper clutch, six-speed gearbox, and many other such additions were first-time features for a Royal Enfield.

The use of a rubber buffer in the rear suspension can be confirmed with the nearest authorized dealership before going for an upgrade and not just that, if you own a 650cc Royal Enfield, we will advise you to keep the bike in standard condition if you are not facing any issues. If any problem is being faced, go ahead and get the rear suspension setup upgraded for sure.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is an extremely well-priced motorcycle and a recent report of cost regarding the first service makes it feel even better than before. The owner reported INR 2578 as the total cost, including the GST value on consumables. However, the first service is considered under the free category and does not include any labour charge. The motorcycle consumes 3.1-litre engine oil of 10W50 grade and thus, the INR 2011.90 went into the oil change section. The oil filter for the motorcycle costs INR 450 while the chain clean and lube costs INR 116.19. The service interval for the new Interceptor 650 is 10,000 km or 1-year, whichever comes earlier.

The owner seems like a leisure rider as the first service period was exhausted with just 493 km. The service cost will not vary by a huge margin all over India as consumables are priced at the same cost at all dealerships. The huge service interval also guarantees that the buyer will not need to visit the dealership after every three months like regular motorcycles sold in India. The next service at 10,000 km may bring additional costs like air filter and injector cleaning to the owner. Still, the amount is pretty decent and this value is much smaller than the one seen for BMW G310R’s first service (Know More).
