Police Force Enhances Emergency Fleet with 100 Skoda Cars

Nottinghamshire Police added 100 new Skodas to their emergency vehicle fleet and the additional features will be used for driver education as well as neighborhood and traffic enforcement.

The delivery expands upon the fleet of emergency vehicles that Notts Police currently has some of which were converted using Skoda's comprehensive turnkey conversion service, and which already comprises Skodas modified for usage across a range of tasks.

In total, 92 Octavia Estates and 8 Superb Estates have been delivered. The Octavias - 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TDI SE Tech variants - will be utilized for response and neighborhood policing, equipped with emergency warning equipment, full livery, and a light bar on the roof. Driver instruction teams will employ these vehicles, along with Superb Estates in Sportline Plus 2.0 TSI 280 DSG 4x4 trim for use in dog units and road policing.

Dog units include custom-built kennels with blue light and air conditioning fitted by Pressfab EVO Limited, one of Skoda's licensed converters, in collaboration with Nottinghamshire Police to satisfy their unique needs. Road police vehicles are equipped with a matrix board, ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition), and a full blue light system.

The performance of Skodas in the blue light market and their dependability in the current fleet have led Nottinghamshire Police's fleet manager, Rachael Whinham, to decide to add more of them to the force. We have found the manufacturer and its models to be dependable, operationally responsive, and dependable for our continued commitment to safety, as well as the officers that drive these cars in challenging conditions."
