700cc CFMoto Twin-Cylinder Motorcycle Patent Images Leaked: CFMoto, the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer is all set to swoop the Indian market with four new motorcycles soon. Before the official unveiling of the new portfolio, several leaked patent images of a middleweight motorcycle have surfaced online indicating that the brand is working on an all-new 700cc displacement motorcycle.

The design rendering gives a clear view of what the motorcycle will look like considering the intricately defined patterns hinting at its final form. CFMoto’s tie-up with KTM has made them give a rather aggressive design language to the 700cc twin-cylinder motorcycle as well as a better appeal.

Coming to the design, the 700cc motorcycle uses a parallel twin cylinder engine with liquid cooling technology. The use of “700” on the left side of the engine represents the actual displacement of the motorcycle while the logo “X” on the right side represents the design language. We can also see the “X” design has not been limited just to the engine design and it has also been used for the front fender, tail light cover, the housing for rear view mirrors as well on the headlight mask.

According to the reports, the leaked patents represent the motorcycle as 700-2 which means the brand has built two models of the same for their internal use. The brand uses a tubular steel chassis frame for the 700cc motorcycle as well as will be using full LED lights for the headlamp, blinkers, and tail light.

When compared with CFMoto’s 649cc displacement motorcycle that is capable of churning a maximum power of 70 HP and 62 Nm of maximum torque, the power and torque coefficient for the 700cc engine would be a little higher (75-80 HP). The suspension duties will be handled by USD telescopic forks at the front while it gets a rising-rate monoshock absorber at the rear. It gets a single disc brake at the front while the production model might feature dual disc brakes.

According to the leaked patents, the motorcycle uses a single pod fully-digital instrument console while the round headlight and rearview mirrors justify its retro styling. It gets a single piece saddle and a muscular fuel tank that compliments its style. The 700cc CFMoto twin-cylinder motorcycle will compete in the Indian market with the likes of Ducati Monster 797.

Yamaha’s RX100 has been the favourite across generations. The lovers of the 2-stroke engine will never forget the appeal of the bike and some have maintained their old bikes just for the fun that it provides. An old-school rider, Mr Yusuf, from Mumbai, has engineered a 2-cylinder 200cc Yamaha RX which has captured the attention of all motorheads across the country.

The parallel twin engine sounds much more appealing than the original one, which is saying something since the fan following of the bike has been majorly for the exhaust note. The re-engineered version with the parallel twin engines also features dual functional disc brakes up front which have been imported from Italy and are called AJPs, which are quite rare to find.

The disc brakes have been individually put on the front end with dual callipers. The width of the petrol tank and the parallel twin engines is the same. This has been done by expanding the petrol tank from below but not too much to lose the appeal of the bike. The seat is original and an addition of a steel rack, from the 80s, has been added behind the seat.

The original exhausts have been used for both the engines and they have been done in a symmetric fashion. The fitting of the dual engines up  front was not easy as the chassis had to be bent in order to accommodate the engines. The carburetors for both the engines have been tuned by hand as tuning the 2-stroke engine is quite easy.

The spark plugs from the stock bike would not have sufficed which is why they have been switched for the ones found on the Yamaha’s RD350 spark plug from Japan. The speedometers have also been switched for the one found on the RXZ’s console. Even with all the changes, at first glance, you will never be able to guess that it is anything other than a Yamaha RX 100.

TVS Motor has confirmed that they are open to the 2-cylinder entry level Apache sports bike idea and could work on the same in near future. Time frame for this advancement was not hinted at present but one could expect them to start the work as soon as possible. The single cylinder Apache RR 310 is a hit among sports bike fans and that proves the higher displacement segment to be profitable in the coming years. TVS might even showcase a full-fledged prototype at the next Auto Expo in February 2020.

Also, BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor venture has an upper engine limit of 500cc and that opens more than a single door for the Indian manufacturer. BMW has not yet developed an engine that supports twin cylinders and comes under 500cc, making things tougher for TVS in the present day scenario. As they are not even prioritizing this concept of entering the Kawasaki dominated segment, buyers will need to consider a longer than usual time frame for a new product. TVS has already proved its quality manufacturing among all other Indian brands and becoming a global brand is not too far now.

TVS Apache is India’s second largest selling sport bike brand with four different engine sizes under offer. Apache RR 310 breaks the RTR nomenclature but firmly differentiates the faired sport bike from other 3 street siblings. After the required evaluation, TVS could consider getting a rival for upcoming products like Kawasaki Ninja 400 and Yamaha R3 in India. They already jolted the KTM RC 390’s legacy through Apache RR 310 and getting future shocks from this brand is now becoming mandatory for India based global brands. TVS is most expected to pair with BMW for their upcoming sports bike strategies.

Update 2 – June 13, 2017 | Clear Spy Video of 750cc Twin-Cylinder Royal Enfield Motorcycle

Royal Enfield’s 750 cc twin cylinder motorcycle was recently again spotted sprinting on the Indian roads. Continental GT’s body design and a much bigger engine ensures that it comes up with an exclusive spot in the Indian market. It was seen with the same twin black exhaust and cafe racer style front fuel tank on this test mule. The video was shared by Anuraag Raut on his Facebook page.

The sitting position seems better than Continental GT and the rear section had some sort of machine tied to itself, covering the section that was once seen under the cowl. For those who love riding with pillion, the motorcycle is clearly seen with rear footpegs near the suspension. The engine feels huge around GT’s body line.

Update 1 – May 15, 2017 | Fresh Spy Photos of 750cc Twin-Cylinder Royal Enfield Motorcycle

Royal Enfield’s twin cylinder motorcycle was recently seen in the most clear images of itself ever. The same was seen parked somewhere in India and these closeup shots reveal a lot about the actual built of the motorcycle. These images by BikesMedia can help the users compare the new 750cc, twin cylinder Continental GT with the actual one.

The first and the biggest difference is the presence of a big radiator on the recently spied motorcycle. Continental GT 535 is air cooled and does not have same on its body, making the new motorcycle heavier by a considerable margin.

Then comes the big twin cylinder engine that fully covers the area under the long fuel tank. In case of the present generation 535 cc GT, the bay area is quite empty and relaxed. The rear Paioli suspension is replaced with a different unit while the tyres even look different and wider. ABS can be clearly spotted on the rear disc brake.

The motorcycle gets twin exhaust that is currently Black but may get Chrome covers in the production version. All other parts are identical to Continental GT while this can be a camouflage to hide the actual design of the motorcycle. Infact, the Clubman handlebar is even an exclusive feature on the new motorcycle.

Royal Enfield can actually place the twin cylinder body parts at the last moment as testing with this design can help them keep the design a secret from all the fans. The twin cylinder motor on the same is made in order to rival the Harley Davidson Street 750 and Continental GT’s single seat design may not help them fulfill this dream.

This is the only reason to expect a full length seat on the new motorcycle while they have even extended the chassis by a small margin. Royal Enfield may place the same around INR 4 lakh to cut down the price of its rival by at least INR 1 lakh or even more.

Update – As per the recent report by MCN, Royal Enfield’s all new motorcycle will feature parallel twin 750 cc engine that will be oil cooled and fuel injected. The two into two exhaust on the same will feature a great note and indicates a 270 degree firing order. They even believe that the actual production ready motorcycle is even not far away. It will be compared to the Harley Davidson Street 750 in every aspect and more precisely, to the newly launched Street Rod 750 for their similarities. Royal Enfield is even expected to bring thicker 120 and 160 section rubber on their new motorcycle. Here is the spy video of the upcoming 750cc Royal Enfield Twin-Cylinder motorcycle:

Original Article as on March 22, 2017

Royal Enfield’s twin cylinder motorcycle was recently spotted testing in India by Team-BHP reader aravind.anand. The motorcycle was even spied internationally around an year ago but still has no concrete news about its existence. The image seen here is from the rear angle, disclosing the uplifted twin exhaust system and extended rear fender. The images that were seen in June last year hinted at a product that uses the Continental GT’s components and this image further confirms the same.

The chances are rare that they will get a different body style after the testing is over. There has been no official statement on anything from Royal Enfield yet. The bike spied in Spain was equipped with chrome exhausts while the one spotted in India had Matte Black units. The one spotted here is even carrying the traditional Indian left side chain placement. The expected engine on the same is 750 cc, twin cylinder motor producing 50 BHP and 60 Nm of torque. It will most probably carry a 5-speed gearbox.

Royal Enfield is expected to target entry level Harley Davidson Street 750 and Triumph Street Twin with its new motorcycle. Both of the rivals are quite competitively placed but still feel expensive for an average Indian motorcycle lover. The popularity of Royal Enfield and their strict brand following will guarantee success to the new product. It can be priced anywhere below the Harley Davidson Street 750, most probably carrying a price gap of around INR 1 lakh for perfect placement.

Royal Enfield enjoys an exclusive fan following among all other bike makers in India. Someone may fall for Yamaha after following Honda for a long time but one who falls into RE fanclub once, there are no chances for his/her change in mind, except for one who has no budget problem and Street 750 from Harley Davidson is the next choice.

royal-enfield-continental-gt-750-side-spied

Royal Enfield is ready to solve this problem, keeping its fans in its very own lineup through the upcoming 750cc, twin cylinder motor, most probably fitted on the flagship RE bike, the Continental GT. The spyshots which were taken few months back clearly indicate that the larger RE would be first introduced in the most capable body form, the cafe racer. There are even chances that the test module may take a totally new shape in its production guise.

The Continental GT 750 may produce around 45-50 BHP of maximum power, rivaling basically the most selling Harley Davidson model, Street 750 in India. It would even end the possibility of even selling a single Hyosung GV650 in the country. Being a totally localized product for the country, it would even be the most affordable motorcycle to do so.

If a report from Rushlane is to be believed, the same may make its debut around March 2017. The dual exhaust pipes are spotted on the testing version, which may not make way onto the production version in the same style. Royal Enfield will manufacture the same in Chennai to keep its overall costs low.

Once again the spy photos of Royal Enfield’s 750cc twin-cylinder motorcycle have been revealed by Motorcycle News after they were first found on the internet in April. The shared images depict that it supports a modified Continental GT frame with a new twin cylinder engine. It seems like the bike maker has adopted an easy and cheap way instead of starting things afresh.

Royalenfield2

The bike has been found testing in Spain but for now Royal Enfield haven’t delivered any official comments about this bike. The astonishing part is that the bike still has got carburettor which implies that the engine is not compliant with Euro 4 or BS IV norms. And sooner Europe and India are about to shift their emission standards.

Royalenfield1

This was a reason of ban on selling of  Himalayan in Delhi as it had a BS III engine. So, let’s see if the company would come up with these changes till its launch or not. This would be the first bike from the British-based Royal Enfield Technology Centre, established last year.
