Harrier Electric and Sierra Electric are two of Tata’s upcoming EVs that have the potential to become best-sellers. Tata Motors showcased both the Harrier EV and the Sierra EV at the Auto Expo 2023.
The core silhouette will be the same as the current model, except for some unique styling elements. A LED strip in the front features an illuminated Tata Motors logo. The modifications are intended to improve aerodynamics and it will help to increase range while also giving the SUV a sensual profile.
Much of the interior equipment will be like that found in current models. iRA-connected car technology will also be available. In line with industry trends, the Harrier electric SUV could get a larger touchscreen infotainment system.
Tata Harrier electric will have a range of 400 to 450 km. Battery capacity could be around 60 kWh, with power and torque output close to 200 PS and 400 Nm. 0 to 100 kph are expected to be accomplished in less than ten seconds.
Some of the technological features, such as multi-mode regen, could be lifted from Nexon EV. Regen is an important piece of equipment for increasing range. The IP67-rated battery pack and the motor will be powered by cutting-edge Ziptron technology.
Users will be able to choose between extending the range and having an exhilarating, full-power ride. Drive mode options could be like those found on the Nexon EV, which includes Eco, City, and Sport modes. An electronic parking brake is another feature that is expected on the Harrier Electric while it is expected to be available with an AWD system.
Charging options on the Tata Harrier EV could be like those found in the Nexon EV, albeit with a higher capacity. The standard home charger, which can be plugged into any 15A socket, will be available, as will a fast charger option and DC fast charging stations. The battery and motor warranty could be like that of the Tata Nexon EV, which offers 8 years/1.60 lakh km, whichever comes first.
