Updated Tata Harrier Spotted; Launch in 2023 With New Engine & Features

Tata has been owning the midsize SUV segment since the release of the Tata Harrier in early 2019, competing against MG Hector and Mahindra XUV700. Tata has been busy adding more tweaks and features to stay on the top of the market and a mild facelift was also done in 2020, then Dark and Kaziranga editions hit the market as well. These new versions were offered with some new features as well, such as the wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, air purifier and ventilated seats.

With all these tweaks it seems as if Tata is not finished yet, inside info is making its way around suggesting a new facelift version in the works. This info has been claimed to come from a source within the company. With a grain of salt, let’s dive into all the information available about the potential facelift Tata Harrier version.

The source calls the upcoming facelift version the ‘Q5MCE’. Many enhancements are to be expected from this version, improving the value for money quotient of the SUV even further. A redesigned front fascia with new headlamps and a new grille, changes to alloys and bumper are to be expected and adding to the fresh look of the harrier they might even tweak the rear segment as well.

As for the mechanical changes, we have been expecting a petrol engine for a long time now for Harrier and Safari. And if you trust the sources, then it could be a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol unit, which could be the modified version of Tata’s 1.2-litre Revotron engine with an added cylinder. A turbocharged petrol engine could be expected to reach an output of 150 bhp, which might not be sufficient to take on the rivals, so tweaks are to be expected.

The launch of this model is expected to be in early 2023, however, it’s yet to be confirmed by the maker.
