2023 TVS Apache RTR 160 2V Launched in India at Rs 1.18 Lakh

2023 TVS Apache RTR 160 2V Launched in India at Rs 1.18 Lakh

Today, TVS officially launched two motorcycles, the 2023 Apache RTR 180 2V and the 2023 Apache RTR 160, which are basically updates to the older-generation Apaches.

The motorcycle’s basic design and platform have not changed, but it now has a long list of features that almost bring it up to speed with the newer generation Apaches. A new LED headlamp, new design LED tail lamp, X-ring chain, wider 120 mm rear tyre, and a fully-digital instrument cluster are some of the changes in this latest iteration.

Updated Apache RTR 160 2V now comes with three ride modes: Sport, Urban, and Rain. Another major feature addition is the SmartXonnect, which enables Bluetooth connectivity and a plethora of additional information. It also has voice assistance, which is a first in the segment.

The 2023 TVS Apache RTR 160 2V retains the same 159.7cc 2-valve engine, which produces 16.04 PS at 8750 rpm and 13.85 Nm of max torque at 7000 rpm. This means that power has increased by 0.51 PS but arrives 350 rpm later and torque is down by 0.05 Nm. TVS also claims to have reduced the weight of the motorcycle by two kilogrammes.

TVS offers the new Apache RTR 160 2V in three variants, with the ex-showroom prices listed below.

  • RTR 160 2V Drum – Rs 1,17,790
  • RTR 160 2V Disc – Rs 1,21,290
  • RTR 160 2V Disc SmartXonnect – Rs 1,24,590

This means that for all of the extra features, TVS charges a premium of Rs 4,050 on the drum brake variant and Rs 4,550 on the disc brake variant. This brings Apache 160 2V even closer to the 4V model. Only Rs 1,861 separates the top trims (with Bluetooth connectivity) of the older-generation 160 and the new Apache 160 4V.
