Yamaha FZ25 based Fazer 250 is expected to launch with ABS as a standard feature in India. The hinted launch date for the same falls in Oct-Dec 2017. The report comes out to be more practical as bikes above 125 cc that would be on sale after 31 March 2018 will carry ABS as standard on them. They can prepare well in advance in order to create a niche following of the brand around the country. FZ25 was even expected to carry ABS as standard but pitching the same as the most affordable quarter liter motorcycle left the safety feature behind.
Yamaha Fazer 250 likely to get ABS as Standard
Yamaha Fazer 250 is expected to get the same engine as FZ25 producing the same 20.69 BHP and 20 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox while the motorcycle will weigh slightly more due to added fairing. Fans are expecting the same to be the most happening launch of this year as Fazer 250 will be positioned as a premium tourer. It may exceed the claimed top speed of FZ25 due to its aerodynamic body package. There has been many renderings regarding the same in the automotive industry.

Yamaha FZ25 comes with LED headlight while Fazer may take the trend further by adding dual LED headlights to the feature list. The tyres will remain same while most other basic body parts are even expected to be shared among the FZ series. It can be priced around INR 1.5 lakh with ABS as Yamaha generally increases the price tag by under INR 10,000 for faired and non-faired versions. FZ25 is currently priced at INR 1,20,385 in India. Available and expected prices are all mentioned for ex-showroom Delhi.
