The 650cc Royal Enfield Twins were launched in November last year and are the most affordable 650cc motorcycles in India. The Royal Enfield Interceptor and the Continental GT are expected to get a price hike soon. A recent report states that the 650 Twins price may go up by INR 15,000-20,000. The price hike update has been reported by GaadiWaadi and the official confirmation from the company’s side is still awaited.
Currently, the Interceptor 650 is priced from INR 2.50 lakh, while the Continental GT is available from INR 2.65 lakh onwards. If we expect the price hike of INR 20,000 then the Interceptor 650 will start from INR 2.70 lakh and the Continental GT 650 will start from INR 2.85 lakh. This would be the first price hike as the prices of the 650cc Royal Enfield Twins remained the same since their launch.
The bikes have been designed to be a global product and they are available in international markets like USA, UK, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand. Siddhartha Lal, the MD and CEO of Eicher Motors said in an interview last year that the company hopes to achieve global annual sales figure of up to 1 million units with the 650cc twins in the coming 5 to 10 years.
