Yamaha XSR155 India Launch Expected by End 2020: According to the latest details available, one of the most anticipated motorcycles under the brand’s portfolio, the Yamaha XSR155 is expected to be launched in the Indian market by the end of this year or early next year. Earlier, the retro-modern 155cc motorcycle was expected to launch in India by the mid of this year but the launch has been delayed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic situation.

The motorcycle was launched back in August 2019 in Thailand at a price tag of 91,500 Thai Baht (INR 2.11 lakh, approximate) while is a part of the brand’s “Sports Heritage” lineup. Powering the Yamaha XSR155 is a 155cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine borrowed from the R15 V3 and is capable of generating maximum power of 18.6 HP @ 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.1 Nm @ 8500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The suspension duties on the XSR155 are handled by upside-down forks at the front while the rear features a monoshock unit. The brand is further expected to equip the India-spec motorcycle with standard telescopic forks at the front to keep the costs under check. The braking department is foreseen by disc brakes at either side while one can expect the India-specific variant of the motorcycle to feature dual-channel ABS as standard.

Coming to the neo-retro design language, the Yamaha XSR155 features a round headlight at the front while the rear has been equipped with an LED tail lamp setup. The brand has equipped the motorcycle with an all-digital instrument console that displays all the necessary readings including the gear-position indicator.

As of now, no official information has been revealed on the exact launch details of the motorcycle. Once launched in India, the Yamaha XSR155 is expected to get a price tag of around INR 1.50-1.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
