The production-spec variant of the highly anticipated Kia Sonet has been recently spied in a video. The video uploaded by a YouTube channel, Power Stroke PS, offers a splendid view of the upcoming SUV’s interior as well as the exterior traits.
Since Kia Seltos is currently dominating the midsize SUV market in India, the Kia Sonet is bound to get major attention in the compact SUV segment. It will further compete in India against the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300.
Coming to the exterior specification of the SUV depicted in the video, the brand has equipped it with LED headlight set up at the front mated to sleek LED DRLs. In addition to this, the SUV features projector headlamps integrated neatly at either side while the tiger-nose grille looks prominent. The front bumper of the SUV has been offered an upright stance while the 16-inch machine-cut alloy wheels further add to its exquisite persona.

The SUV has been further equipped with black roof rails while the taillights have been offered an edgier stance. The sportier design language of the SUV has been enhanced with the addition of red accents on the front and rear bumper as well as other body panels.
In terms of the interiors, the Kia Sonet has been equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system in addition to getting a leather-wrapped steering wheel, vertical AC vents, wireless charging supports, climate control buttons and more. The SUV is expected to feature a UVO connected system just like the one offered in Kia Seltos.
Powering the Kia Sonet would be the similar engines that power the Hyundai Venue. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine will be capable of offering 120HP of power and 172Nm of peak torque while the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine would be good for 83HP and 115Nm.
On the other hand, the diesel engine on the SUV will be borrowed from the Kia Seltos that will be capable churning out 115HP and 250Nm. All the engine variants will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission while the customers can also avail the 7-speed DCT/6-speed AT as an option. Once launched in India, the Kia Sonet is expected to be priced around INR 7 lakh to INR 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
