Back on February 22, 2021, Tata officially launched the new model of Safari with a starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs 14.69 lakhs. After the official launch, a lot of digital artists have started creating various renderings of the new Safari and the latest one we came across is the Safari Bureaucrat Edition by SRK Designs.
It is basically an armoured limousine version of the SUV which has been offered an extra-long wheelbase. Some of the key design highlights of the Safari Bureaucrat Edition include a new front grille with vertical slats, Indian flag on the left fender, chrome finishing on the pillars, black wing mirrors, all-black alloy wheels, tinted windows, flashing red/blue lights housed inside the front bumper, chrome door handles, dark blue exterior finish, and thick side cladding.
As we reported earlier, the new model of Safari is basically the production version of the 7-seater Harrier, which was earlier codenamed Gravitas. The new Safari has been upgraded in terms of exterior and interior to set it apart from the Harrier.
The changes include a larger rear quarter glass, a new C-pillar rear quarter design, and also a flatter boot lid. It also gets a slightly different front grille with a tri-arrow pattern, while the side profile along with the headlamps and front bumper is the same as Harrier.
Some of the key features of the new Tata Safari include a dual-tone white-black interior theme, front parking sensors, electronic parking brake, JBL audio system, 8.8-inch infotainment touch screen system, six airbags, and a panoramic sunroof.
Mechanically, the new model of Safari is equipped with the Harrier’s 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine churning out 170PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
