Citroen C5 Aircross SUV Launched in India: The much-talked-about Citroen brand has finally entered the Indian markets today with the launch of the C5 Aircross SUV at a starting ex-showroom price tag of INR 29.90 lakhs. Earlier, the brand was supposed to enter India in August 2020, but it didn’t happen due to the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
As we reported earlier, the premium SUV has been brought to India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kit and will be assembled at the brand’s facility located in Tamil Nadu. The pre-bookings for the SUV are already open with a token amount of INR 50,000. Here is the variant-wise ex-showroom price list for the C5 Aircross SUV:

Talking about the features, the Feel variant of the Citroen C5 Aircross comes equipped with 18-inch Swirl two-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, halogen headlamps, LED daytime running lights, 3D LED taillights, ORVM turn indicators, front fog lamps with cornering function, rear fog lamps, and an LED stop lamp. Coming to the Shine variant, in addition to the features of the Feel variant, it also features LED vision projector headlamps and a panoramic sunroof.
In terms of the interiors, the Citroen C5 Aircross is equipped with a grey-coloured dashboard with dual AC vents, while the cabin features a Metropolitan Grey colour theme. The standard feature list includes a 12.3-inch TFT instrument display, dual-zone climate control, alloy foot pedals, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Mirror Screen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in addition to getting a six-speaker audio system.
The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that is good enough to generate a maximum power figure of 177 HP and a peak torque of 400 Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, while the power is sent only to the front wheels. For now, Citroen is not offering a manual transmission. The SUV does come with different driving modes: Snow and All-terrain with Grip Control. The ARAI-certified mileage of C5 Aircross stands at 18.6 kmpl.
In terms of safety, the SUV is equipped with 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Traction Control (TC), and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS). The SUV also gets an electric parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, ISOFIX mounts, auto door unlock and a lot more. The Citroen C5 Aircross competes in the Indian markets with the likes of Jeep Compass, Volkswagen T-Roc, Skoda Karoq, and the Hyundai Tucson.
