Mahindra & Mahindra recently launched the updated 2022 model of Roxor in North American markets. In the United States, the Mahindra Roxor is classified as a side-by-side off-roader and is a recreational vehicle that is not road legal. The Roxor is built by Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA) in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and is based on the first-generation Thar; the underpinnings and running gear are shared across the two off-roaders.
The earlier versions of Mahindra Roxor off-roader were withdrawn from the market following various lawsuits brought by FCA, Jeep’s parent company, now Stellantis. It has a similar appearance to the Thar, but the front grille is slightly different. It now gets a brand-new horizontal double-slat grille with honeycomb mesh-like black accents. The fender is assembled in such a way that the broad-nosed bonnet can protect the large, chunky wheels.
There aren’t any changes made to the engine and other mechanical parts. Talking about the engine, the 2022 Roxor is powered by a 2.5-litre diesel engine that generates maximum power of 64 hp and a max torque of up to 195 nm. Based on the Mahindra Thar, this vehicle comes with two gearbox options: a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. Its off-road average speed is around 50–60 kmph.
The retro-style body of 2022 Mahindra Roxor is composed of polyurethane. The Roxor comes with no doors, no roof, and consists of a two-seater space with a bare-bones cabin. It comes with a roll-cage as an added strength and chunky off-road tyres with a 16-inch rim to turn every rough terrain drive into a smooth ride. The vehicle also has the capability of towing weights of up to 1583 kg.
There are two colour options available: one is exotic red and the other one is wild black. Both the colours are glamorous and breathtaking. As far as its India launch is concerned, we don’t think it is possible because the recently introduced Roxor is a US-spec model.
