Yamaha R15M 60th Anniversary Edition India Launch Possible

Yamaha Motor introduced the R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition to the Indonesian two-wheeler market back on December 2, 2021. Loaded with Yamaha’s latest technology, the new model is also presented in a new livery to enhance the grace of its anniversary edition look. The new R15M is offered in white with yellow, black, and red accents. In Indonesia, the bike is offered in two variants: one is Connected-ABS and the other one is Connected.

While speaking of another prominent add-on, it is the Traction Control system that acts to inhibit the rear tyre from skidding when the motorcycle accelerates on every kind of surface. Another crucial update is the addition of upside-down forks, used for better handling and control as well as making the bike look dashing. In terms of design and styling, the R15M takes inspiration from its larger supersport twin, the R7. It gets a completely new front fascia, a robust fuel tank, new body graphics, and a reworked visor.

In addition, a new faring and exhaust system are also part of this new overhaul. In terms of technical features, the new R15M is equipped with a fully digital LCD instrument cluster empowered by Yamaha’s Y-Connect connectivity feature. The bike has an all-LED lighting system with LED DRLs, unlike its outgoing model, which has dual-beam headlamps.

Powering the Yamaha R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition is the same 155cc, SOHC, single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine that uses fuel-injection technology and is capable of churning out 18.6 hp of max power and 14.1 Nm of max torque when coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The brand has also offered the bike with Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation technology.
