Aprilia GPR 150 vs Yamaha R15 V3 (Quick Comparison): The upcoming Aprilia GPR 150 (RS 150) lightweight sportbike is a direct rival to the BS6 Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 3.0. Earlier, the 150cc Aprilia motorcycle was expected to launch in the Indian market this year but as per the latest details available, the official launch has been delayed. As of now, it is also not confirmed whether the brand would launch the GPR 150 or the high-displacement GPR 250/300 in India.
Coming back to the Aprilia GPR 150, it is capable to generate 18HP of maximum power and is lighter by 2kgs in comparison to the YZF-R15 V3. On the other hand, Yamaha has a clear benefit of an extensive dealership network whereas Piaggio has a presence in a limited number of cities across India. The GPR 150 features USD front forks and thus, the pricing is expected to stay premium in comparison to the R15 V3. The price gap between both the bikes is expected to hover around INR 10,000.
Aprilia is expected to launch the China-spec GPR model in the Indian market, leaving behind the popular RS 125-inspired design that is on sale in the European countries. The most powerful bike of its segment, the R15 V3 is good for 18.6HP of maximum power. Yamaha recently launched the 2020 BS6-compliant model of the R15 V3 in India with a starting ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.45 lakhs. Here is a quick technical specification comparison between the GPR 150 and the R15 V3.
