TVS Apache RTR 160 4V vs Honda CB Hornet 160R: At present, the base model of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is priced at INR 82,810. This starting price is quoted for a very basic version that comes with a single front disc brake and rear 110/80 tyre as standard. Buyers can consider going for another variant at INR 85,810. This one uses wider 130/70 rear tyre with 200mm petal disc brake on the wheel.
If not considering these two, TVS is also offering a variant with fuel injection for 91,810. The least equipped version weighs 143 kg while top spec variant tips the scale at 147 kg. Honda CB Hornet has also entered its next generation with updated variant for INR 85,943. The price mentioned here is for single front disc variant. Rear disc variant comes with CBS as standard. This one can be bought for INR 90,443.
Honda CB Hornet 160R ABS STD is priced at INR 91,443 while Hornet 160R ABS DLX is priced at INR 93,943. It seems like DLX variant comes with rear wheel disc while STD uses a single front disc brake with ABS only. TVS Apache RTR 160 is good for 16.8 HP and 14.8 Nm while Honda CB Hornet 160R produces 14.9 BHP and 14.5 Nm.
This makes Apache RTR 160 4V the most powerful option that you can buy in this segment. Top speed for Apache RTR 160 4V is 114 kmph. It takes just 15.9 seconds to reach 100 kmph from standstill, which could have been even better if it weighed few kilograms less than its present weight. Both bikes use 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Hornet 160R comes with LED front headlight. TVS has skipped the ABS option for now but if they plan to discontinue the existing RTR 180, dual channel ABS will be then offered on RTR 160 4V for sure.
