125cc Sport Bikes We Would Love to See in India: Superbikes are like dreams for millions of riders in India. Unfortunately, Indian motorcycle market is biased toward the commuter segment, forcing the manufacturers to stay within certain limits of manufacturing and producing those 100-125 cc machines in abundance.
If you all are bored with the same 125cc Honda Shine or Hero Glamour around you, here are liter class inspired 125cc sport bikes those if launched could change the Indian motorcycling industry.
Yamaha R125 is one of the best looking R series motorcycle currently. After the update of R6 into the R1 design language, R125 still carries the essence of older generation, bigger super sport bikes.
R125 is powered by 124.7 cc engine producing 14.8 BHP and 12.4 Nm of torque. Unfortunately it weighs around 140 kg, even heavier than the 134 kg Indian R15S. Being a 125 cc sprinter, it can still touch a top speed of 126 kmph.

KTM’s youngest racer, the RC 125 uses all of the same component as bigger RC 200 and RC 390. The difference remains when you see its 124.7 cc engine, producing 14.8 BHP of maximum power and 11.8 Nm of torque.
The dry weight of 135 kg further makes it one of the best options to consider if someone is shy from the fuel efficiency figure of the bigger 390. It even claims a top speed of 125 kmph, way better from many 150 cc commuters of India.

Suzuki and Honda offers conventional forks while all other are equipped with USD forks. Every the bikes listed here comes with a 6-speed gearbox, liquid cooling and a fuel injected engine. The only problem with there launch is high price, inappropriate positioning as most of the brand either offer 150cc alternatives or could not place because of extensive part sharing.
Only Aprilia can take this opportunity of launching a 125cc sportbike as they currently sell no motorcycle in the lightweight category. Even then, it could not be placed below the current position of Yamaha R15 as it uses premium components and the most attractive design.
