Royal Enfield Classic 350 again proved itself by ranking number one among all 250cc-500cc bikes, scoring 44,021 units in September 2018. The second and third place goes to Bullet and Thunderbird 350, all resulting in huge sales number for Royal Enfield. Yamaha is here to break the RE legacy, fetching 1,804 buyers during the same period. Royal Enfield again makes a comeback with four-digit numbers for Classic 500 and Himalayan. Bajaj Dominar (1,095 units), placed at the seventh position, was the last one to score a four-digit number.
KTM Duke and RC series, including just 250 and 390 variants, were good for the next two positions. The sudden fall becomes prominent with Thunderbird 500 scoring 7 more units than the number posted by TVS Apache RR 310. Honda CBR250R comes next with 335 units. Kawasaki Ninja 300 is the first twin-cylinder motorcycle to enter this list, getting 228 buyers in September 2018. In comparison, Yamaha R3 was good for just 66 units. Commando is UM India’s best-seller with just 114 units while Mahindra Mojo is seriously down with 25 buyers in one month. Apart from the first five products, all others are under-performing for their segment.
