Ather S340, the much awaited electric scooter from Ather Energy, is almost ready to enter production. Bookings for this all electric machine will start around June 2018 and buyers can expect deliveries to start before end of 2018.
The model was first seen in 2016 and company’s promise of delivering it by 2017 went in vain after they entered the testing and validation phase for their product. Ather Energy has a production facility in Whitefield, Bengaluru and S340 is in pre-production stage. They have zeroed on certain features and 2018 variant will be highly loaded in terms of technology and equipment.
Ather claims that S340 has undergone intensive testing as their scooter has covered more than 50,000 kilometers in real world conditions. They have worked with 55 units of S340 in last four years. Each one was developed with something in addition to the other as Ather S340 will be their first and future deciding product for sure.
Those pre-bookings for June will be limited to Bengaluru region only while they will later establish better user base and architecture in other parts of the country. Simultaneously, Ather is building an efficient charging network around Bengaluru that will help them prove the worth of S340.
The all-digital console supports smartphone connectivity and helps rider access notifications, navigation and locate charging stations. May 2018 will witness inauguration of certain charging points that will support fast charging from the first day. Even if they have been blamed for postponing deadlines and given dates, production will start for sure in July 2018.
