2020 BS6 Bajaj Platina 100 and CT100 Launched in India

The BS6 Bajaj Platina 100 and CT100 have been officially launched in the Indian market. Both the motorcycle variants constitute a major chunk of sales for the brand while imparting them with a BS6-compliant engine further ensures better performance as well as new welcoming feature updates.

Both the BS6 Bajaj Platina 100 and CT100 have been equipped with a fuel injection system in the form of an e-carburettor mated to an Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The motorcycles have been equipped with a revised Evaporative Emission Control System unit in addition to getting extra catalytic convertors to tune down the harmful emissions.

2020 BS6 Bajaj Platina 100

In terms of engine specifications, both the updated motorcycle variants continue to be powered by a 102cc air-cooled engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 7.7HP and a peak torque of 8Nm. The engine remains mated to a 4-speed gearbox.

Commenting on the launch of BS6 Bajaj Platina 100 and CT100, Sarang Kanade, president (Motorcycles) of the company said – “The introduction of these models begins the transition of our product range to BS6 norms. Bajaj Auto has scaled up their line-up of BS6 compliant vehicles and will make BS6 bikes available in the other models in the next few weeks. “

Coming to the cosmetic changes, the BS6 Bajaj CT100 now features blacked-out engine casing, chain cover as well as front forks. The motorcycle is now equipped with LED DRLs while gets a revised bash plate. Apart from this, the motorcycle remains the same when compared to its BS4 avatar. The BS6 Bajaj Platina 100 now features a revised speedometer unit with an engine check warning indicator. The handlebar unit has been tweaked a bit while the DRLs and the tail light have also been revised.

2020 BS6 Bajaj CT100

The BS6 Bajaj CT100 is now available at a price tag of INR 40,794, getting an increase in the price by INR 7,392 from its BS4 price tag of INR 33,402. The BS6 model of the Platina 100 gets a revised price tag of INR 47,264 for the kick start variant and INR 54,797 for the electric start variant. The updated Platina variants are now available in the market with a premium ranging from INR 6,000 to INR 7,000 when compared to their BS4 versions.
