250cc Bajaj-Triumph Motorcycle RenderedBased on Trident 660

As we already know, Bajaj Auto and British brand Triumph are working in collaboration to produce medium displacement bikes and the first one is likely to be priced at around Rs 2 lakhs. As Royal Enfield is already dominating the segment, it will be necessary for the Bajaj-Triumph bike to get retro-classic styling to give it a neck-to-neck competition. The price point suggests the upcoming Indo-British bike can be powered by an engine ranging between 200cc and 300cc, and it will be a single-cylinder engine.

It is noteworthy that the development and engineering of the bikes will be done under the supervision of Triumph Motorcycles in the UK and the manufacturing will be done by Bajaj Autos in India. Bajaj has recently launched two 250cc bikes under the Pulsar branding in the country and sells the Dominar 250, KTM 250, and Husqvarna 250 in the segment. Therefore, we can say that Bajaj is confident in offering the bikes in the 250cc segment.

There are many guesses about the forthcoming bike’s body styling, like the cruiser or classic roadster. If it goes with the latter prediction, then the design inspiration will most probably be taken from Triumph’s Trident 660. Here’s one rendering which is done by Rushlane’s rendering artist, Pratyush Rout. This render is of a medium-displacement roadster bike, which is likely to rival the upcoming roadster bikes from Yezdi, Jawa, and Royal Enfield.

The rendering artist took the design inspiration from the Triumph Trident’s styling and dual-tone paint scheme. While the Bajaj Dominar engine is used for exemplification purposes only. It appears as a quarter-litre roadster with a perfect mixture of classic and modern elements.

As far as the Bajaj-Triumph collab’s first motorcycle launch is concerned, it is most likely to enter the Indian market by 2023 as there were reports earlier this year that the production process was getting delayed owing to the COVID outbreak.
