Bajaj officially showcased a customized Pulsar NS200 with a set of touring accessories at the Istanbul Motorbike Show. The accessorized touring model of the NS200 features a headlamp cover, an engine guard, luggage carriers with removable mounts, aluminium inserts, knuckle guards and a navigation device with a separate mount.
At present, Bajaj Auto has no official plans to launch these accessories for the Pulsar NS200 in India though one can get the same kind of modification done from a customization shop. The accessorized version of the Pulsar NS200 pays a tribute to the Pulsar AS200, which is a discontinued model. The name literally translated to Adventure Sports but was unable to survive the changing trend in sales.
It was a mild adventure machine as in comparison to the NS200, the Pulsar fans expected the AS200 to get features like an adjustable windscreen, more ground clearance, and even better tyres. But Bajaj Auto only provided a front visor and a different set of side panels to differentiate the AS200 from the NS200 and eventually, due to poor sales in the Indian market, the brand discontinued the motorcycle.
As per a recent report, Bajaj Auto has promised that the AS series will make a comeback and expecting a strict off-road specific motorcycle will not be a wrong idea. The Bajaj Pulsar series is highly sophisticated as you can get a variety of models ranging from commuter sportbikes to track-specific race machines.
At present, the stock model of the BS6-compliant Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is available in the Indian market with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.45 lakhs. It is powered by a 199.5cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which is good for 24.5HP of power and 18.5Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
