The new Bajaj Dominar 400 was launched in India in April 2019 and the model received some major updates against its earlier counterpart. In May 2019, the sales number was up by 59% at 1,888 units in comparison to 1,191 units sold in May 2018. The updated Dominar is available in 2 colour options: Aurora Green and Vine Black. The latest features include chrome accents on its wheels, silver USD front forks, and an updated powerful engine.
The bike also features an updated instrument cluster with a dot matrix display that shows information on fuel usage, average speed, next service due indicator, trip time, and a lot of other useful information. There are also significant changes in the crash guards which are now wider and the motorcycle is also equipped with bungee cords that are positioned under the rear seat for baggage or panniers.
Mechanically, the 2019 Dominar comes with a 373.3cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine that is tuned to deliver 5HP more power than its earlier model. The motorcycle now generates 40HP at 8,650 rpm while the peak torque of the bike stays the same at 35NM but it is now delivered at 7,000 rpm. The Dominar 400 is the most value for money bike by Bajaj Auto in India. It is priced at INR 1.74 lakh and competes with TVS Apache RR 310, BMW G310R, Honda CB300R, and KTM Duke 390.
