Bajaj Not Coming at Auto Expo 2018: Bajaj Auto is India fourth largest motorcycle manufacturer by sales and its absence from Auto Expo 2018 will feel the most to every motorcycle lover present on those six days.
The brand is actually out of products and reaching the show with nothing in hand will bring them into a tough situation. Bajaj recently called a media event and launched almost every possible product they would bring in 2018.
The list includes all-new shades for Bajaj Dominar, LED daytime running lights equipped commuter models like Platina, Discover, CT100 and recently launched Black Pack models for DTS-i series.
V12 and V15 were surprisingly updated with pillion backrest while Discover 110 made an official entry to take on rivals like Hero Splendor and Honda Dream in India. The 3 new shades seen on Dominar 400 are said to be inspired from the terrains that riders came across their Trans Siberian Odyssey.
Bajaj Auto is shifting its focus on commuter bikes and they would spend the same budget on promoting products from the entry level segment, instead of showcasing the same range back to back at different events. Unfortunately, Pulsar 135 received no update from Bajaj Auto this year.
Auto Expo 2018 will also miss on the KTM brand as Bajaj Auto is at the commanding level of the Austrian performance brand. Fans will also miss other brands like Harley Davidson and Triumph on the Auto Expo 2018. The show opens for public on Feb 9 while media days will start early on Feb 7.
Bajaj Auto had the worst sales figure for December 2017 and recovering through the Discover 110 was a good idea. The newly shown Avenger range will be launched later this year. They are even planning to replace the least power 150cc cruiser with Avenger 180 in the coming weeks.
