BS6 2020 Bajaj Pulsar RS200 has Twin ABS: Bajaj Auto has picked up speed in launching the BS6-compliant variants of its motorcycle portfolio in the Indian markets. Since the new emission norms have been commenced in the country from April 1, 2020, the brand has revealed all the price tags and the feature updates offered to its revised BS6 portfolio.
The brand has also updated its official website with the BS6 price tags of the motorcycles though contrary to the official website, the flagship motorcycle from the brand, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is now equipped with a dual-channel ABS unit as standard.
The official website of the brand still lists the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar RS200 with a single channel ABS though a price list availed from an authorized Bajaj dealership confirms that the motorcycle is now available to the customers with Twin ABS.
According to the Bajaj Autos’ official website, the BS6-compliant Pulsar RS200 is now available across the dealerships at a price tag of INR 1.44 lakh which is around INR 3,000 higher when compared to the price tag of its BS4 variant.
The 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, fuel-injected, BS6 engine is now capable of offering maximum power of 24.5HP at @ 9750 rpm and a peak torque of 18.7 Nm @ 8,000 rpm. The engine remains mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The updated motorcycle offers a similar power figure when compared to the BS4 version while the torque has been increased by 0.1Nm.
Apart from the updated engine, the motorcycle remains cosmetically unaltered. The addition of an extra catalytic converter, oxygen sensor and more to comply with the BS6 emission norms has made the kerb weight of the motorcycle to increase by 2kgs.
The authorities at the Bajaj Auto have been informed about the matter while one can expect the ABS matter to be cleared up soon. If the brand is indeed offering a dual-channel ABS with the Bajaj Pulsar RS200, only a 2.1% increase in the price tag seems to be worth it.
