Bajaj Dominar Trans-Siberian Odyssey: Dominar 400 becomes the first Indian bike to finish Trans-Siberian Odyssey. For those who are unaware of the route, this one is called the toughest motorcycle tour around the world as riders cover 15,600 kilometers of distance in just 53 days.
The passage includes six countries (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia) and highly varying terrains like mountains, gravel, rocks, grasslands and even river beds. The built quality of a motorcycle gets highly challenged in these circumstances and Dominar 400 proved its worth by completing the journey without even a single part change.
Three riders (Dilip Bhat, Deepak Kamath and Sudhir Prasad) rode together on three Dominar 400 motorcycles and started their journey from Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan through Tajikistan. Known as ‘The road from hell’, the stretch is second highest international highway and these countries have one of the toughest hairpin roads around the world.
They further went through Kazakhstan and then headed straight to Russia through Mongolia. The riders then went on Kolyma highway and crossed the Road of Bones before officially completing the journey. The riders will now travel across India to share their experiences with other Dominar 400 riders.
Bajaj has equipped the Dominar 400 with a powerful 373.2 cc, single cylinder engine producing 35 PS and 35 Nm of torque. The engine is good enough to allow triple digit riding speeds to the rider for long duration. Further aided with slipper clutch, Bajaj Dominar 400 is one great option to buy when touring is your first motive.
As the engine is liquid cooled and fuel injected, riders can easy drive the same under extreme temperature conditions. Additional features on Bajaj Dominar includes LED lights, wide tyres and highly informative instrument console. Bajaj Dominar is even offered with an additional ABS equipped model for INR 14,000 over its standard price tag of INR 1.42 lakh.
